Historia
When Lizzie Velasquez was 17 years old, she came across a video online titled "The World's Ugliest Woman" - only to discover that it featured her. In response, she decided to stand up on behalf of victims everywhere and created a YouTube channel and TED talk that have drawn tens of millions of viewers. In this revelatory book, Lizzie reveals the hidden forces that give rise to cruelty, and how we can redirect them to unlock empathy and kindness.

What made the experience of listening to Dare to Be Kind the most enjoyable?
The Total Package. The reading and quality are spot on. I have only praise and kudos for everything this non-fiction work encapsulates. I have learned MUCH from Audibles self-help books, yet Dare To Be Kind is the Cap-Stone in that regard. I will always be thankful for the lessons and advice given in this book, and do my best to live the message. Also the enhanced format truly brings out the cadence and professionalism of the reading. I would of enjoyed it whatever format it was in. Yet the way it has been provided is/was a real treat.
What did you like best about this story?
It's a good length. So there is a great amount to enjoy. I was a fan before I bought the book. The best part of it all for me is that it is very specific towards kindness/compassion and making the world a happier place. You can tell how much effort was put into every area of presentation, I waited over 2 months for this pre-order and it was worth every second.
Have you listened to any of Lizzie Velasquez’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes I have, and it is for sure her best work/writing to date. It is even better than her TedX talk which was superb.
What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?
That aggression does not work on bullies. That they are hurting people, and that only compassion/love can truly heal that.
Any additional comments?
I wanted to be able to write this review after listening to it a few more times, and after meditating/praying for a long period. Yet I suppose I just had the fire too strong to wait for that...maybe I can do another review or add something to this one. I did the best I could now because I wanted others to know, and to pass it forwards type deal as I feel so stellar a benefit from this recording.
