Historia
Award-winning author Alan Bradley returns with another beguiling novel starring the insidiously clever and unflappable 11-year-old sleuth Flavia de Luce. The precocious chemist with a passion for poisons uncovers a fresh slew of misdeeds in the hamlet of Bishop’s Lacey - mysteries involving a missing tot, a fortune-teller, and a corpse in Flavia’s own backyard. Flavia had asked the old Gypsy woman to tell her fortune, but never expected to stumble across the poor soul, bludgeoned in the wee hours in her own caravan.

I got it all wrong! I really enjoy the way Freida McFadden writes. Just when you think you know “who” the killer is, your wrong. I especially enjoy the narrator of her books.

I really enjoy the Mic Halley series of books and I especially enjoyed having Harry Bosch show up in the book. I found it an interesting spin on letting Mic have a preview into the life of so many of the people he defends by putting him in jail. Enjoyable audio!

Historia
London, 1940. When nurse Elsie offers to send a reassuring letter to the family of a patient, she has an idea. She begins a book of last letters: messages to be sent on to wounded soldiers’ loved ones should the very worst come to pass so that no one is left without a final goodbye. London, present day. Stephanie has a lot of people she’d like to speak to: her estranged brother, to whom her last words were in anger; her nan, whose dementia means she is only occasionally lucid enough to talk.

Historia
In his wickedly brilliant first novel, Debut Dagger Award winner Alan Bradley introduces one of the most singular and engaging heroines in recent fiction: Eleven-year-old Flavia de Luce, an aspiring chemist with a passion for poison. It is the summer of 1950 - and a series of inexplicable events has struck Buckshaw, the decaying English mansion that Flavia’s family calls home. A dead bird is found on the doorstep, a postage stamp bizarrely pinned to its beak. Hours later, Flavia finds a man lying in the cucumber patch and watches him as he takes his dying breath.

Revisado: 01-15-21
Loved getting to know Flavia Delouse in this mystery murder story. The reader is perfect for the tale and most amusing. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in the series. I am definitely going to get my 13 year old daughter to give it a listen.
