II loved this book. But it's terrible that it's based on a true story. So sad.

Would you consider the audio edition of City of Fallen Angels to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version.

What other book might you compare City of Fallen Angels to and why?

It's so different from most books I've read. It's got Shadow Hunters who are human but with special powers. It also has vampires, werewolves, worlocks, wizards and demons. There is also a romance storyline that adds a lot to the mix and mysterious happenings.

Which character – as performed by Ed Westwick and Molly C. Quinn – was your favorite?

I love the main girl, Clarey. And I also really like her best friend Simon who...oh, I guess I shouldn't say what special thing happens to Simon. It might give away something. And I'm also attracted to the gay worlock whose name excapes me at the moment. Oh, there are so many very interesting charactors in these books!! Oh, and I really like Isabel, she's glamorous, tough and kookie!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's a book I never wanted to finish because it was so good. But it WAS very hard to put down. I'm glad there are many books in the series!!

Any additional comments?

Check out the Mortal Instruments series if you like young adult fiction and lots of action and mysterious stuff.

What made the experience of listening to City of Ashes the most enjoyable?

I like the special warrior types of people with special skills and some magic involved. Great read. Edge of your chair exciting.

What other book might you compare City of Ashes to and why?

Because of special skills and magic, I guess you could compare this book to Twilight.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked when Clairie found that she could see those warrior people and other people couldn't. She didn't know why she could see them. That mystery is eventually solved, but it would give away part of the plot, so mums the word.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!!! But I couldn't. I've listened to the next two books in the series also and am planning on getting the rest.

Any additional comments?

I was surprised at how into these books I got. But they are really exciting and fun to read and Listen to

Would you listen to Reached again? Why?

I will probably listen to it several times. I have listened to the first two in the series at least twice each and I am really enthralled with this series and this last book was GREAT! I think there should be another book!!

What did you like best about this story?

The people in it.

Which scene was your favorite?

Many scenes were really great. I can't think of just one. Maybe when Ky finally woke up.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes! When the mom woke up.

Any additional comments?

Love love love this series!

Would you consider the audio edition of Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version so I can't compare them. But I loved the audio version!

What other book might you compare Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet to and why?

I read another book about the Western states sending their Japanese to camps. I think it was called something like Tall brown Grass. But this book is nothing like it. And I really liked this one better.

Have you listened to any of Feodor Chin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

If you could rename Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, what would you call it?

A bitter sweet love story.

Any additional comments?

This was an absorbing and entertaining story. Such a sad time in our history. The love interests are a Chinese boy and a Japanese girl in Seattle at the outbreak of WWII. The girl and her family are sent away to a camp and lose everything. the Chinese boy, who loves her, searches for her and finds her. But then her family is moved to another camp and they lose touch. I don't want to give away the very interesting adventures that happen, but I can just say, that it's a great read!

What made the experience of listening to Moloka’i the most enjoyable?

The reader's performance was spot on!!! I really enjoyed her portrayal of the main charactor who is a child who was diagnosed with leprosy as a very young child and spent a year or more in a hospital and then about 20 or 30 years at the leper colony on Molokai.

What other book might you compare Moloka’i to and why?

Can't think of another book to compare this to.

What about Anne Noelani Miyamoto’s performance did you like?

She portrayed the main charactor so well, it was like listening to her telling her own story

Who was the most memorable character of Moloka’i and why?

Other than the main character it was the nun who nurtured her all the years she lived on Molokai.

What did you love best about The Sandcastle Girls?

I really liked the fact that it was such an eye opener about the attrocities committed against the non-Turkish citizens living in Turkey.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sandcastle Girls?

When we discovered the supposed "dead" wife was still alive.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were too many. Many of the interesting scenes couldn't be called favorites because
they were too gruesome, but still very moving and certainly attention holding.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Epic Story of Genocide in Turkey

Where does Little Blog on the Prairie rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I don't like this question. I love books and it's hard to say which is best or rank them in any order. But I really did like this book. It captured my attention from the beginning and only got better and better.

What other book might you compare Little Blog on the Prairie to and why?

I can't think of a book I might compare this one to. It's written in the first person by the main character, who is a 13 year old girl. So in that aspect I guess I could compare it to Matched.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't think I've listened to her before. I don't always look to see who the narrator is.

Who was the most memorable character of Little Blog on the Prairie and why?

Well of course Jen is memorable as the main character, but Nora is pretty interesting and also Pumpkin, the hen.

Any additional comments?

This is a story of a family who goes on a 21/2 month vacation at a frontier farm. They live like it was 1890. No electricity or indoor plumbing. They have to work the farm they are assigned and Jen has to sleep in the same bed as her 10 or 11 year old brother, in the same room as their parents. They milk the cow, churn butter etc. BUT Jen has hidden her cell phone among her things and secretly texts her two best friends all the details of their "vaction" One of her friends puts her texts on a blog for a homework assignment and unbeknownst to Jen, it goes viral!! Needless to say, cell phones or any electronics are forbidden in the 1890 frontier village.

What did you love best about Matched?

I really liked that it was set in a different time and the country was ruled by the "Society". It was kind of a Big Brother is watching you type of society. How the people live there is so different than the way we live. Their food is delivered daily in foil containers and has the exact right amount of calories for optimum health for each person. After you turn seventeen, you have a matching ceremony where you learn who your future spouse will be. You don't have any choices in who you marry or what your job will be. Most people follow along blindly, but Cassia and Ky seem to be different and secretly are rebelling against the society.

What did you like best about this story?

The love story between Cassia and the forbidden Ky.

Have you listened to any of Kate Simses’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to the narrator before this series. She makes Cassia sound like a teenager and I like that for this book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did and I didn't. It was hard to put down, but it was so good, I wanted it to last forever.

Any additional comments?

I have read Matched and Crossed and can't wait for the third in the trilogy to come out!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this audiobook to a friend and actually have. I really like the first book in the series and this is the second. I can hardly wait for the third book in the trilogy to come out!

What did you like best about this story?

Partly, I liked the "big brother is watching" type of thing. And how the main character and her friend found ways to get around it.

What does Kate Simses and Jack Riccobono bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She read the part about the main girl and he read the parts about the boy and the mix was great. You saw the differing points of view more with the two voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was very hard to put down. But at the same time I didn't want to finish it. I wanted it to last a long time.

Any additional comments?

Someone else said that they couldn't get into this book. I didn't have that problem at all. But if you do feel that way, keep reading. It seems to get better and better and more exciting all the way.
