Historia
The creative writing teacher, the delivery guy, the local Starbucks baristas, his best friend, her roommate, and the squirrel in the park all have one thing in common - they believe that Gabe and Lea should get together. Lea and Gabe are in the same creative writing class. They get the same pop culture references, order the same Chinese food, and hang out in the same places. Unfortunately, Lea is reserved, Gabe has issues, and despite their initial mutual crush, it looks like they are never going to work things out.

Fitting title... this book is a little different
Revisado: 11-20-14
What did you love best about A Little Something Different?
It was a little hearted, fun, easy read. It brought me back to my single college days.
What does Will Damron and Amy Rubinate bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The narration was wonderful. The accents and dialects they used really brought the story to life!

It's hard to say if I liked or disliked this book
Revisado: 05-12-14
Would you try another book from Judy Greer and/or Judy Greer?
Yes, I like Judy’s narration but the story was only so so for me. It sounds like Judy came for a good home, has nice family, and has a good connection with family and friends. Her background was very relatable and many parts it seemed like she was describing my background. With that said there wasn’t anything too extraordinary about her story. It was an easy light hearted but nothing really jumped out at me.
Which scene was your favorite?
I really enjoyed her story about her first car and the "Star2B"

Great listen but not what I was expecting
Revisado: 02-19-14
If you could sum up Whistling Past the Graveyard in three words, what would they be?
Unexpected! I was expecting an "coming to age" novel. Though this is, the twist and turns that took place floored me.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Whistling Past the Graveyard?
When Starla gets in the car with Eula. From the get go I thought, oh no, but I was not expecting the chain of events that took place from that moment on.

Enjoyable Classic
Revisado: 05-30-13
Would you listen to The Great Gatsby again? Why?
Yes, this story is a classic for a reason! It was very beautifully written.
Which scene was your favorite?
There were so many wonderful scenes it's hard to pick just one! I however would have to choose the first party Nick attends at Gatsby's house. The grandioseness of the party was intriguing and the discription Fitzgerald gave made me feel like I was there myself.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I actually listened to this book in one sitting during a long car ride. I didn't want to turn it off!

Amazing story and family, strength, and loyalty!
Revisado: 05-17-13
Where does The Kitchen House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is one of my favorite audiobooks I've listened to.
What did you like best about this story?
You get to see a different side of slavery. Yes, there are still some very dark, cruel moments but you also get to see how slaves lived their day to day life and how they functioned inside of their familes. Some parts of this story are difficult to get through, but for the most part this story is about family and love.

Well written but book is slightly over hyped!
Revisado: 05-17-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes and no... though it was well written I found the time Pi spent on the raft boring.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Expected... I had heard that the ending was shocking and expected more from it. I cna't say much else without ruining the ending for other listeners.
Do you think Life of Pi needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, I don't know how they could follow it up.

Heatbreaking Story
Revisado: 03-27-13
What made the experience of listening to Calling Me Home the most enjoyable?
The story was very well written. It was easy to connect to the characters and the plot kept you engaged. Just when you think you have the story figured out, Julie Kibler would throw you a curve ball.
What did you like best about this story?
The innocence of Isabella. Even though you know how her story turns out, you keep routing for her and Robert.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, It is rather lengthy but I found myself finding excuses to turn it on and found myself excited to start it back up each time.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Maybe... I found the book a bit heavy and got lost in much of the war and pilot descriptions. However, if you are interested in history/aviation you might enjoy it more than me.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
When they were stuck on the raft, I don't know how anyone could survive that.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Though it was well written, I found myself getting bored and lost in some of the details.

What did you love best about The Girl in the Garden?
The book was very well written. There wasn't many twists and turns, but since the book is told from the point of view of a child the entire story is her trying to piece together information piece by piece since everyone is trying to protect her from the truth.
What other book might you compare The Girl in the Garden to and why?
Hands down, this is an adults version of "The Secret Garden"
Which scene was your favorite?
When Rahkee first discovers the garden

Historia
January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she’s never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb.... As Juliet and her new correspondent exchange letters, Juliet is drawn into the world of this man and his friends - and what a wonderfully eccentric world it is.

Engaging Story
Revisado: 02-18-13
Is there anything you would change about this book?
Though I did enjoy this book, I was expecting more of a narrated story then a series of letters. I'm not sure I would necessarily change the way it was wrote, but I just found it unexpected.
What did you like best about this story?
Even though this story was about the German Occupation, a very dark time in history, Mary Ann Shaffer was able to turn it into an uplifting tale about survival and friendship.
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
I enjoyed hearing all of the characters, I loved the way the narrators brought them to life, but I do have to say Adelaide Addison was my favorite. I just picture a middle aged spinster staring out of her window judging everyone in the town.
Was The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society worth the listening time?
Definitely!
