Yet another amazing addition

I love this series! It’s a continuation falling in line right behind the last book. The last line of the epilogue answered a question I hoped I didn’t have to wait for, so I’m thankful there! My only complaint is that I have to wait for the next book, but I’ll be ready as soon as it’s released.

Short and Sweet

Cute novella. I think I would have liked reading it vs listening, the female’s voice was not my favorite. The FMC acted more like a teenager than someone in her mid-twenties. Very immature and annoying at times. But since the book was so short, she was tolerable enough to finish.

Here for Troy

Here for Troy Duran but stayed for the story. It was short and sweet and perfect length. I dont think I cared enough about Chloe to want to read anything longer but the story of the Berserker & mythology was nice. If you love Troy Duran (which you should), I’d recommend a listen

Well… Damn!

This is my first time listening to Joe Arden.. dude is completely crazy.. AND I LOVE IT! This duet was AmAzInG. I wasn’t into some of the tropes (degradation, blood, spit, blasphemy..) but this book and this performance was worth the credit and worth the listen. I was willing to go on whatever ride this couple took me on. “Sick luv” is right, but it was phenomenal

My first Avant book. The concept was there but I just kept getting lost. It may have been better if I was reading rather than listening, but I had to rewind a couple scenes to figure what was happening/who was speaking. Yes, the female voice was horrible, but overall, this read was just okay. I would not recommend a credit for this, but go ahead and buy it when it goes on sale

I’ve like Geissinger but I LOVE Troy Duran, which is why I bought this book. It had Geissinger’s typical spice and twisty ending, but nothing as shocking as her other books. TRIGGERS: mention of infidelity, child’s brutal death, mental health..

I read all the books in this series and the spin-offs. I love Kenya Wright and will support her! So I would recommend.
Pros: The story was nice. I loved the characters, the humor, the love for Black women. Cons: THE NARRATION! My goodness. The first female actor’s voice was too mature for Emily and Lacy Laurel was insufferable on every level, for every character. Surely there’s another Black female voice actress out there? I appreciate the smutty scenes, very well written. But after investing all the time in reading about the big bad lion and his Mighty Mouse, all the sex scenes become unrealistic. (You’re in the middle of a battle but you have time to stop and have sex?-think helicopter scene). At a point, i want to hear about the story line, not his “mushroomed tip.” I didn’t appreciate investing so much time in other characters and not having resolutions to their stories (Blue and her many admirers, Roland & Mrs Jones, Rafael, Maxwell & his Baby). I hope there will be continuations to round these stories off.

I’m glad I didn’t use a credit, but since it was free, I’m not upset. It was hard to believe the characters were in their 20s & the FMC repeating she has a master’s degree didn’t add to her maturity. It was better to pretended the characters were teens. The story was okay, but not for me.
