Historia
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

Historia
Morrigan Crow is cursed. Having been born on Eventide, the unluckiest day for any child to be born, she's blamed for all local misfortunes, from hailstorms to heart attacks - and, worst of all, the curse means that Morrigan is doomed to die at midnight on her 11th birthday. But as Morrigan awaits her fate, a strange and remarkable man named Jupiter North appears. Chased by black-smoke hounds and shadowy hunters on horseback, he whisks her away into the safety of a secret, magical city called Nevermoor.

Percocious
Revisado: 01-29-25
My biggest problem is that the main character is supposed to be 11 years old.
It's like listening 'precocious' TV shows where children read lines written by a room full of middle aged writers.
I just pictured Morg (Morrigan) as being 16 years old.
My other complaint is that there isn't enough world building. A lot of hints but no ways to puzzle them together.
These haven't prevented it from a being a great book (series).
I strongly recommend this series.

For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

I really enjoyed this book. A very different take on 'modern' magic.
There were a few places where I couldn't keep track of the characters, but I think work was distracting me from what was more important.

Historia
Reports to write, forms to fill, coffee to drink, leads to run down. Gus’s life was a tedium and boredom he’d grown comfortable with. One that he sought out after he’d come back from his tour of duty. A detective in the paranormal investigations department. A job he could work day in and day out in relative peace. One cold and forgotten cup of coffee at a time. It was an environment that made some sense to him. At least in comparison to civilian life where almost nothing did. On top of that, it gave him a chance to hide what he was from the rest of the world.

It took a long time for something to happen. I was busy so listened on. I'd say the last third of the book makes it worth the listen.
Same with the narrator. Took a long time to avoid the cringe, but by halfway through the book she gave each character their own voice, and personality. I may listen to some more of the narrator to see how she does with other stories.

Historia
Emperor Mollusk. Intergalactic Menace. Destroyer of Worlds. Conqueror of Other Worlds. Mad Genius. Ex-Warlord of Earth. Not bad for a guy without a spine. But what's a villain to do after he's done... everything. With no new ambitions, he's happy to pitch in and solve the energy crisis or repel aliens invaders should the need arise, but if he had his way, he'd prefer to be left alone to explore the boundaries of dangerous science. Just as a hobby, of course. Retirement isn't easy though.

Shut off your brain and have some fun.
Revisado: 09-22-15
Would you listen to Emperor Mollusk Versus the Sinister Brain again? Why?
Maybe, to pick out a few obscure references.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Emperor Mollusk Versus the Sinister Brain?
Entertaining story, told, and narrated, with gusto.
Have you listened to any of Scott Aiello’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The story is tongue in cheek, but the world is consistent.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Nothing really. He has a wide range of voices, accents and emotions. Though narrators should be allowed to slap writers who write characters with 'lisp'.
Any additional comments?
Imaginative and fun. I purchased the book on sale, but will be looking for more books by the author or narrator.

What would you do if you were sitting quietly in your living room when a mysterious couple suddenly appeared from out of nowhere, and then told you they were "ascended masters" who had come to reveal some shocking secrects of existence and teach you the miraculous power of advanced forgiveness? Would you call the cops? Call a psychiatrist? Call out for pizza?

Basically an Infomercial for A Course in Miracles
Revisado: 09-06-14
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. Poorly read. The subject was interesting, but the Readers were horrible. I might recommend the Hardcopy Book.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The 'Universe' concept was interesting.
Wisecracking Ascended Masters?
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The Author's voice was uninspiring.
The female Reader started out bad, you could hear her stumbling over commas, though she grew more proficient by the end of the book.
The male Reader didn't start out too bad, but was emoting like the announcer in a commercial by the end of the book.
Did The Disappearance of the Universe inspire you to do anything?
I'll probably listen to A Course in Miracles, so I guess this book did its job.
I wonder if I can return this Book to get the money to buy the one it was advertising.
Any additional comments?
If those two clowns are Ascended Masters, I think I'll take up Buddhism.
