Historia
One September morning, Doug accidentally runs right into another surfer on the beach. There are rules about these things. Sweeping tale of love, honor, and fairies…
Revisado: 11-03-24
This tale of a human “transplanted” into the world of fairies is well-read by the narrator and compelling. Some parts were hard to listen to, given the challenges that our heroine faces. But overall, it is a beautiful love story that will satisfy those looking for gripping action scenes.

Masterfully narrated, with good reproduction of New Orleans accents. Ignatius comes to life, with all of his quirks and ailments, thank Fortuna!

Excellent story, with lots of surprises! The narrator doesn’t distinguish character voices all that well. Nina and Millie are almost indistinguishable.

Really liked the story, and without spoilers, I wish there had been more to the resolution of the events - who were the perpetrators of the scheme? I’m left feeling like the narrative just ended way too soon.

Historia
Fadeout is the first of Joseph Hansen’s twelve classic mysteries featuring rugged Dave Brandstetter, an insurance investigator who is contentedly gay. When entertainer Fox Olson’s car plunges off a bridge in a storm, a death claim is filed, but where is Olson’s body? As Brandstetter questions family, fans, and detractors, he grows certain Olson is still alive and must find him before the would-be killer does. Suspenseful and wry, shrewd and deeply felt, Fadeout remains as fresh today as when it startled readers more than thirty years ago.

This story was actually pretty good. I only had a problem when they referred to Big and Little Hebert. Anyone from South Louisiana knows that the name is pronounced “A-bear” and not “Hee-bert” and that just about ruined it for me. Do your local homework please!
