Spice level is high.
I took away .5 because there was some redundancy in monologue and FMC can be too naive and annoying at times.

🚩Please read triggers!! 🚩This is a very descriptive trauma filled series. VERY dark. Relationship between main characters is all over the place. None of it healthy.

I have not read many stalker romances so I don’t have much of a comparison. It was relatively easy to figure out who was the stalker. It didn’t take from the story. There are several reveals that were strung out too long because of it became too easy to see them ahead of time. That was disappointing. The ending though was unlike anything I have read. It is definitely not what you would expect. The constant confusion if she loves him or is she Stockholm. In my opinion that distinction was given never an infinitive answer. The story had a lot of cheesy scenes. Some of them were a little heart squishy. Hats off to the author for the way she treated the trauma and ifs effects on the characters. It was not immediately forgotten or suddenly all better. She really gave a good look into the mind of the victims. Banter was ok. The story did have many times when I didn’t want to put it down but did have some slow parts. Fully fleshed main characters. Side characters so so. The names of the dad and Christian’s uncle were too similar. Got confusing.

I think overall it is well written. The main characters were well done. They had a lot of depth and feelings coming through the writing. I got the comic book nods through out the book. Like I said I haven’t read my stalker books, but I think this book stands out because of the authors main characters. She really does a good job of getting and keeping your attention in certain scenes. You can sympathize and relate with the main characters. The ending is shocking and heartbreaking at the same time.
Narrators are off the charts. I listen to a lot of audiobooks. These two will go on my favorites list. Female narrator was able to express the feelings so well it really made her more real in your mind. Both voice actors reads their own parts. No male trying to copy a female voice and viscera. The male voice was kinda sexy. He also did a pretty good job relating emotions. I liked the way he was able to give both of his characters their own personality and the different way of thinking.

The narrators are very good. The story line was a little different than the normal. The heroine did start out pretty strong but it didn’t last long. Don’t get me wrong MMC is a dick and his conceded behavior was over the top. I was really hoping to see her overcome his alpha shit and bite his dick off. From the blurb I was expecting more from MFC. I have about 3 hours left and just can’t finish it. Very misleading. If you like a heroine that is Stockholm that thinks being a rug is being submissive and a gaslighting MMC go for it.

The FMC is totally unbelievable and just comes across as a 12 year old brat. Need to add SJW in the description

The first book in the series wasn’t too bad. I understand that the MFC had a horrible childhood. I can understand the resentment towards those around her who have severed suffered. I understand speaking your mind and using your story to bring enlightenment.
What I don’t understand is the MFC blaming everyone for her plight. By the second book she acts as if everyone is responsible and constantly throwing in people’s face that had literally no control over her circumstances. It is brought up and mentioned so many times it ruins what could’ve been a good book.
The MFC grew up in a prison. The short temper and fast to violence is applicable. Acting like a complete moron that just whines about injustice and uses it as an excuse for her infantile behavior. The author even mentions in the first book about how the MFC learned to manipulate the guards and inmates, but she can’t pretend to be in a relationship with a prince? Because once again he didn’t magically know that she was in the prison so should have rescued her. The MFC acts like a spoiled brat that feels entitled, is a constant victim, acts tough but blames all of her problems on anyone but herself. She thinks she can act however she wants and expects no consequences. The character doesn’t act anything like someone that has gone through the trauma that she endured, instead acts naive, whiny and self absorbed. Supposedly will do anything for her family then two paragraphs later refuses something simple and puts them in even more danger. The character becomes so annoying that you are almost hoping she gets sent back to prison. I couldn’t take it anymore. It’s like the whole book is just about a complete asshat that thinks the world owes her and everyone should give up their wealth to make her feel better. Socialist much. I DNFed second book. I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Oh my where do I start. Voices were nails on chalkboard. The narrators doing opposite gender was awful. Male voice would have been less hard on the auditory if he didn’t try to do other voices. The female voice was whiny. The breath/pause between words made my eyes cross.
Story, overall was a very unique take on paranormal, but that is where it stops. Really could be an amazing book. Story is a first draft at most. Redundant conversation, whiny heroine, male lead just comes across as split personality. I understand the wolf/man concept but without any background male comes across as just crazy. Not tormented just vague. The side characters in the book are 1 dimensional. Forcing them into the scenes instead of being part of the scene. This story needs flushed out a LOT.
Shout out to the author for a very interesting storyline. I’m not trying to negate the effort that went into this story. It is very hard to write a book. I really feel like if this had more meat to the story it would definitely be a popular read.

** this contains spoilers***
I bought this because I really liked Bishop. I don’t like plot holes. I’m only about halfway through and can’t let go of a few things. If the senators son was so important in finding out who the mole was inside Torrians outfit, Why would Hunter kill him? Sara already had him incapacitated, why not throw him in the trunk of Dans car, then chase down Sara to find out what she knows. Wouldn’t it have been a lot easier to torture the info from him.
Second when Sara decides to confront Torrian with a stripped down version of her conversation with Dan, it holds zero credibility. Why not go with the whole truth. She was trying to find Josh and she found a picture of Dan and Josh together and questioned him about if he knew who he was. The only answer she got was Zack, Zeke or Vaughn which meant nothing to her. Especially since she tried to look him up and found nothing. Or could have stuck to him saying he couldn’t remember his name and only found out recently when Hunter offered to help her find him and found out that Josh was Vaughn. If Dex is so good at computers, tracking and such why not pair up to Vaughn phone or hack his emails and plant information? The author is making this harder than it has to be. I understand suspense, but this is just so hard to follow when there were obvious reasons to the whole Dan issue to begin with. I mean the author could have let Dan take the fall and give up his informant and have that informant be for a rival gang. Giving a reason for danger. Especially since Hunter is not a part of Torrians gang. So he would be left with no protection from Torrian.

Story basic mafia plot. Virgin, revenge and bullying.
Performance was decent.
Spice level 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3 out of five. MMC had a good dirty talk game.
Overall I’m not a fan of virgins or weak women. But that is personal so I’m trying not to add to my review. Story was well written. Author did a good job with characters. Basically FMC is sold to Mmc. He wants revenge for what her dad did to his family so he decides to put her on an auction block. Female character starts the story out with some backbone then quickly turns into a whiny, needy childish, just plain annoying person. Her inner dialogue will give you whiplash. Obviously and the reason we read/listen to these books he is dominant and a cruel bully. He is going to use sex and derogation to tame her. He is very clear about his intentions to sell her. But every time he touched her she thought that meant he changed he’s mind. It was like she kept getting dumber as the story went along. After like the third time and she seemed so shocked, I almost wished he would just shoot her. Long story short I absolutely hated the MFC. Book ends on a cliffhanger. I will not get the next book.

Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I have to admit at first I almost DNF the first book in this series. It started out so slow. But then it started picking up and then I was lost. This is a very very dark book. If you can’t handle SA then do not read this book. It has a lot of bullying, degradation and very rough msex with kn!fe play. An aphahole you will want to reach in and strangle 80% of the time. This story sucked me so far in I was cussing the main characters for being naïve and pig headed. Then I was cussing the author because I thought she should have given the FMC more jabs during an argument. Seriously, I was basically yelling at myself saying don’t you forget he did this, you need to tell him this and get mad because it didn’t happen. Like they were real people and I’m over her trying to have my girls back. I have never been so engrossed by a story that I have become totally lost in it. I am fifty years old and I have read many books my entire adult life. I have never, ever cried over a story. I was blubbering like a baby by the end. This story gives you everything. I never understood when someone would say that a book gave them all the feels. Now I do. A lot of it anxiety and screaming at the FMC not to give in to him yet. The FMC was perfectly balanced. You couldn’t help but cheer her on. She wasn’t a badass and she had a softer side, but she also did well standing up for herself. So many of these books starts out with the FMC being strong and then as soon as they hit the mattress she forgives everything and starts to follow the MMC like a puppy. The story was very original and so well written. World building was ok, like most alternate worlds it is difficult to keep track of names of towns and places, but you really didn’t notice because the characters were so well developed, you kind of forgot anything else. I can’t say enough. That being said, as far as the narration goes it was ok. The voice of the MMC could get annoying at times. It was like he took a deep breath after so many words so it came out choppy. Overall chefs kiss 🤌.

A lot of this is personal preference. I absolutely hate when the FMC is weak. She lacked fight. Everything else isn’t bad. The story, background, aliens were all interesting but I can’t get past a female lead that doesn’t put in a good effort to fight back and resist. I was really hoping for that when I read the blurb. As for the narrators, I maybe could have gotten further in the book but they were awful. The female voice was annoying somehow. I can’t put my finger on if it was her cadence, accent or monotone. The male voice was just as bad. It was almost like listening to the virtual voice. Those readings need burned. Nope. Can’t do it. I hope I can return it.

FMC caved within seconds. No fun in that. At first before she left with her mates, she came across as strong and confident. Afterwards she just went along with whatever. Oh we have to have sex in front of everyone while only hearing about it right before. Well if you say so WTF. I can’t stand a FMC that is just blah. The world building was awful. You didn’t really get a sense of their surroundings. The sex scenes weren’t bad, but the some of the dirty talk was cringe worthy. You could see through the plot quickly. The narration was not good. What little story that was presented was totally overshadowed by the narration. At times the male voice sounded southern. For the most part all the voices were annoying. Especially when the male attempted to do the female voice. Sorry but not.

The story is pretty common trope. The twist being she isn’t immediately “claimed” which was a nice change. Story was good. My personal opinion, authors work really hard, it needed a little something more. Right now it reads pretty close like every other alien kidnapping. I think the author did a good job with the MCs but for me it just didn’t stand out. The narrator was ok. Really would have been better with a female narrator added. Overall it was a fun read.
