Necessary Read!!
Revisado: 01-29-21
Wow what a book! I was hooked right away. I have never had an agency explained so well. I know that no agency lives up to its mission totally, but what a guideline. It changed the way I look at things. I really like Mr. Comey and still do, but now I understand what made me so vaguely uncomfortable with what he did during the 2016 election. Mr. Figliuzzi reads his work very well and gives examples of his points. I have been listening to him on TV and perk up every time I see his face on a panel because I know what he will say is clear and concise.

Best Story Ever!
Revisado: 08-18-19
I loved every minute of this book and was very sorry when it ended. Sherman is truly a quirky but lovable character. Watson grows on you. The characters develop through out the story, with the ending being not only fitting but satisfying. I can hardly wait for book 2.

A Blast!
Revisado: 06-16-19
This is not my usual read, but it sounded good. It was! I had a hard time turning it off. The characters were quirky and the story moved right along. Even the bad guys were fun, especially death. The title indicates more to come. Please write fast!

Historia
In a shocking scandal, the likes of which has not been seen in the English aristocracy since the 18th century, the Duke of Denver stands accused of the foul murder or his sister's fiancé, shot through the heart on a cold, lonely night at Riddlesdale Hall in Yorkshire. The duke's brother, Lord Peter Wimsey, attempts to prove Denver's innocence, but why is the duke refusing to cooperate? And what does his sister, Lady Mary, know about the affair? Trying to reveal the truth, Wimsey uncovers a web of lies and deceit.

Like Listening to an Old Friend
Revisado: 11-07-18
Lord Peter Wimsey is one of my very favorite characters. I have read all the books and watched all the TV programs. I was delighted to see Dorothy Sayers on the recording list and excited that Ian Carmichael was doing the narration. The whole thing was delightful.

Historia
This is the third of 37 Emma Lathen best sellers, featuring John Putnam Thatcher, SVP of the Sloan Guaranty Trust, who gets to the bottom of things by cutting through various business goings-on. He's a famous accountant who swoops down on a company to examine the books, dissident shareholders, community groups, and others to examine the financial motives in order to nail the killer. A humorous romp for those who like humor and good writing in their mysteries.

Less Than Amateur
Revisado: 11-07-18
I have read all of Emma Lathen books and loved them. Deaver Brown did a poor job of narration. He sounded as though he was doing a cold reading and had to repeat many words that he messed up. His voice is better suited to a hard boiled PI than a sophisticated man of finance. The worst thing, however, was the music playing through the narration. It was not part of the story and was very distracting. After 3 chapters, I gave up and returned the book. I am disappointed that Audible would carry such a poor product.
