Historia
In the last 30 years, the process of starting a family has drastically changed. There many more options for getting pregnant and dizzying array of variables from start to finish. Genetic test or no genetic test? Midwife or OB-GYN? All this choice can create anxiety, especially around the most difficult realities. Miscarriages and fertility issues are common, yet often concealed. One in nine mothers report dealing with postpartum depression, but it is rarely acknowledged and even more rarely treated. Enter Leslie Schrock, first-time mother whose own struggles opened her eyes.

This type of book isn’t the best as audio
Revisado: 03-10-22
I think this book might be better delivered in paper, instead of being an audiobook. That way you can just flip through the pages and stop on the topics that are most relevant to you. It would also be a lot easier to access the checklists, they could be very helpful reminders if you could see them. The only way it’s gonna be helpful for me is if I transcribe from the audiobook. I can’t remember a list of 25 things just from listening to it.
I didn’t have any “ah ha” moments listening to this. But there were a number of times when I thought, “ oh I forgot to check insurance for…” or “ I should check my family history for…”
It’s good stuff you want to think about ahead of time, it’s just very dry.

Historia
This is not an audiobook about specific technologies. It offers listeners a systematic approach to domain-driven design, presenting an extensive set of design best practices, experience-based techniques, and fundamental principles that facilitate the development of software projects facing complex domains. Intertwining design and development practice, this audiobook incorporates numerous examples based on actual projects to illustrate the application of domain-driven design to real-world software development.

Nearly unusable audio
Revisado: 03-09-22
There are significant chunks of code regularly sprinkled through the text that are read completely rather than summarized. It’s virtually unintelligible. A linked PDF with numbered figures (referenced from audio) would be *much* preferable.

This book changed how we approach food
Revisado: 05-05-20
Emily shares about her difficult upbringing and how she turned her life around, in part due to nutritarian eating. Her story is compelling. We were already interested in healthy eating, but I appreciated learning more about what to eat and why. We adjusted our approach to food after reading this book. Thank you Emily Boller for sharing your story!

Historia
Integrating hundreds of studies with her own research and work in the Fortune 500 world, organizational psychologist Tasha Eurich shatters conventional assumptions about what it takes to truly know ourselves - like why introspection isn't a bullet train to insight, how experience is the enemy of self-knowledge, and just how far others will go to avoid telling us the truth about ourselves. At a time when self-awareness matters more than ever, Insight is the essential playbook for surviving and thriving in an unaware world.

Historia
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old Devil to his nephew, Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man.

A fun listen and a great reminder!
Revisado: 03-31-15
This book is supposedly a series of letters written by a superior demon, to an apprentice demon. The superior gives instruction on how to best trip up humanity and its Christians.
Some parts are humorous and amusing (especially the lies the enemy believes in order to feel important or in control) While other parts are rather sobering, because I see myself at my worst depicted.
I greatly enjoyed listening to this book!
For me, it makes me think about my life and my actions, and how they would be perceived by God and the devil. And it's a great reminder not to get caught up in the little things of life, but to love the people in it.
