Historia
Is your gut impacting your health? Find out if your gut is responsible for inflammation and a host of medical issues, from anxiety to autoimmune disorders. If you have an unhealthy gut, chances are you frequently suffer from heartburn, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. These symptoms occur frequently in people who have gut issues. But the good news is they can all be treated. Many people tend to treat the symptoms of an unhealthy gut, rather than trying to boost the health of the gut in the first place.

This perpetuates the false notion that whole grains are good for you when they in fact contribute to leaky gut. Read Grain Brain, What Belly and The Plant Paradox to learn the truth.

Worst book on eating EVER!! Don't waste your money
Revisado: 03-03-17
What disappointed you about Mindless Eating?
The author is not a nutritionist. He has made his career in how to market foods to consumers. His logic is, since he has figured out what makes people eat more, to flip that and use it as tips to make us eat less. There is no proof that his suggestions actually work. And knowing what I know from Gary Taubes' books (Why We Get Fat, The Case Against Sugar) I can guarantee that not only will they not work to help people lose weight or maintain their weight as they age, they will only add to weird food obsessive thoughts and feelings of failure. This book is so bad that it's the only one I've ever purchased from audible that made me want to ask for my money back.
What didn’t you like about Marc Cashman’s performance?
He was actually fine. I just wanted to give the book the lowest rating in all categories possilbe.

Historia
In The Paleo Manifesto: Ancient Wisdom for Lifelong Health, John Durant argues for an evolutionary - and revolutionary - approach to health. All animals, human or otherwise, thrive when they mimic key elements of life in their natural habitat. From diet to movement to sleep, this evolutionary perspective sheds light on some of our most pressing health concerns. What is causing the rise of chronic conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, and depression?

Soooo good!
Revisado: 01-30-17
John Durant coverts an interesting variety of topics in an engaging and informative way. Some of my long held beliefs about nutrition and some cultural practices around food have been changed. I actually feel genuinely optimistic about the future of humanity and the world after listening to this book. I highly recommend it.

Historia
Most people are familiar with PTSD. But many have not heard of complex PTSD and developmental trauma disorder. As adults, many of us experience symptoms of anxiety and depression. We feel chronically stressed. We have trouble trusting others, or we may even experience feelings of paranoia in our relationships with others. We struggle to define what it is that is bothering us, and we struggle to find ways effective ways to treat it.

Extremely simplistic. The only person that might benefit would be someone that is at the very beginning stages of attempting to understand the human psyche. Even then I think they could find a more credible and informative source.

Historia
Explaining that an impaired capacity for connection to self and to others underlies most psychological and many physiological problems, clinicians Laurence Heller, PhD, and Aline LaPierre, PsyD, introduce the NeuroAffective Relational Model™ (NARM), a unified approach to developmental, attachment, and shock trauma that emphasizes working in the present moment. NARM is a somatically based psychotherapy that helps bring into awareness the parts of self that are disorganized and dysfunctional.

Somatic mindfulness has been missing from traditional psychotherapy. This gives clinical credibility to body based healing and eastern philosophical modalities.
