it was overall enjoyable. It was gently humorous. I don't recall laughing too much. and I mention that because the book is advertised as humorous. It was, however, charming and lighthearted. The romance was slow and light as well. An easy cozy listen for sure.
it took me a minute to get into the performance but I was engaged by the end.

I could read this book a myriad of time and never be bored.
Not a book for light reading. It's deep and delightfully confusing at times. But, if you're looking for a new macbre obsession...have a read.

Lots of Fun

This was a good adventure. It took me a second to get into it but then I was hooked and zipped through all three books in no time. The performance felt stiff at first but as I settled into their voice it fit the story well.
Lots of adventure and some mystery. Magic and some spice (😉). Can't wait to listen to the next bit of the series.

Not the worst

I bought this not realizing it was the second of the series. so I checked out and read the first one. I never got into the story. Everything felt a little glossed over for me. I was hoping the performance for the audiobook would have snagged me into the series, as there are some fun elements.
Nope. Made it worse. I did not care for the performers choices. Which pulled me out of what little depth I got into the story.
The story itself did get kind of interesting 3/4's of the way through this book.
I can't quite place my finger on what is missing from this book for me. As I mentioned, there are good elements. Just not enough depth.
