Historia
Abby is an ordinary seventeen-year-old living with her family in Northern California, or so she thinks. The night of her graduation, everything changes. After a strange accident, Abby wakes up to find she has been transported to another planet named Ozam with beautiful lands and more advanced cities than Earth. This new world would change everything she had ever believed was true, yet it is a place she somehow knew from the depths of her childhood dreams.

Great story and lead into the next book.
Revisado: 10-20-24
Excellent story with great detail. The narrarator is also excellent in the audio book. This first book mixes great elements into a interesting fufuturistic fantasy. There are hints of a twilight zone story along with a more modern futuristic thriller. This book works for not only for a young reader but also for a older generation reader. I look forward to the next book in this series. Highly recommend.

Historia
The third novel by award-winning mystery writer Michael Koryta featuring private investigator Lincoln Perry. Once a rising star on the Cleveland police force, Perry ended his career when he left one of the city’s prominent attorneys, Alex Jefferson, bleeding in the parking lot of his country club—retribution for his affair with Perry’s fiancée.

A weak and soft protagonist.
Revisado: 09-09-23
Lincoln Perry was hard to get behind in this book. Unrealistic dialogue throughout. All the characters were weak. And with a pro like Scott Brick narrating, it made it sound foolish at times. I usually enjoy this authors books, but this one came across like it was rushed.

Historia
When Joe Pickett is asked to join the rescue efforts for the victim of a startling grizzly attack, he reluctantly leaves his district behind. One survivor of the grizzly's rampage tells a bizarre story, but just as Joe begins to suspect the attack is not what it seems, he is brought home by an emergency on his own turf. Someone has targeted a prominent local judge, shooting at him from a seemingly impossible distance. While the judge was not hit, his wife is severely wounded, and it is up to Joe to find answers - and the shooter.

A continuation of a series that jumped the shark.
Revisado: 05-21-20
the series isn't what it used to be, not even close. very disappointing again. the series hasn't been the same since it jumped the shark with ma cates collecting insurance money while she would have been convicted of killing Pa Cates, the insured. they both were committing a felony when he died. she would have been charged and not get some convenient slush fund to extract revenge. and this one. Nates in jail and while there Joe's truck gets shot and he doesn't think this would help get Nate out sooner?? you have to turn off logic to enjoy. unfortunately I can't.

Historia
The plane circled in the dark. Joe Pickett could just make out down below a figure in the snow and timber, and then three other figures closing in. There was nothing he could do about it. And Joe knew that he might be their next target. The Cates family had always been a bad lot. Game warden Joe Pickett had been able to strike a fierce blow against them when the life of his daughter April had been endangered, but he'd always wondered if there'd be a day of reckoning.

Such a disappointment compared to his others
Revisado: 04-30-20
I've read all but 2 Joe Pickett books. All of them have been either very good or great. This one was terrible. The whole premise is a sham. Insurance funds paid to a beneficiary while in thr commission of a felony the insured dies (while also committing a felony), never happen. A ax wielding psycho at the door where her kids are and Mary Beth is just gonna sit there and watch at the gate until the police arrive? no way. There's many other examples of the sloppy writing.
We knew Dallas was coming for revenge and it should have been a story up to the standards Box has set but this was a rush job and it shows.
With 2 books left to read in the series I hope this is the only negative review I give. I wish I would have just skipped this one.
