Timely Read

I just happened to be in the middle of listening to this book when it was announced that the man suspected of being the Golden State Killer had been found. I think that it's a credit to the way the book was completed after Michelle McNamara's sudden death that my thoughts were also with her. I'll admit that I was skeptical of the book and it sat in my recommendations for a long time before I chose it. After I did, I only regretted not getting it sooner. This book is one I'll come back to.

Overall, I liked the book. It started out a bit slow, and I felt like Jackie was a bit obsessive, but toward the middle and end, I found myself driving/walking a bit longer to hear more on my iPod.

There is no shortage of ladies who want her man, but will she be able to find a suitable replacement among the conniving church women?

Good Listen-Hope To See More
Revisado: 03-24-08
I really liked this book. It was quick paced and I enjoyed the story from the different points of view. I will say that the one-dimensional female characters bothered me. They all seemed to be single-minded schemers except for one; I would have liked to see the character of Savannah developed more-- I felt like the author wanted to tell more of her story, but stopped short. In all, though, the book was an enjoyable listen. I'd like to see more Carl Weber books on audible.
