A Ghoul?
Revisado: 04-19-15
Would you be willing to try another book from Victoria Laurie? Why or why not?
I don't think so. I was not really drawn into the book. I found it interesting but not great and it got into a lot of legal stuff, all of which did not make a lot of sense unless you were willing to do research and who wants to research a book? It lacked depth of the characters as well. I didn't feel I knew the characters any better by the end of the book than I did when I started.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Eileen Stevens?
I'm not sure at this time. There was nothing particularly wrong with her narration it just lacked .. i don't know.. color. It seemed so black and white, if that makes sense.

Historia
Nola Leary would have been content to stay in Kilcairy, Ireland, healing villagers at her family’s clinic with a mix of magic and modern medicine. But a series of ill-timed omens and a deathbed promise to her grandmother have sent her on a quest to Half-Moon Hollow, Kentucky, to secure her family’s magical potency for the next generation. Her supernatural task? To unearth four artifacts hidden by her grandfather before a rival magical family beats her to it. Complication One: The artifacts are lost somewhere in vampire Jane Jameson’s occult bookshop. Complication Two: Her new neighbor, Jed Trudeau, keeps turning up half-naked at the strangest times....

Kisses and Curses...
Revisado: 03-27-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I would say that it was definitely time well-spent but it left a lot to be desired. I felt the book moved terribly slow in some spots and just right in others. I enjoyed re-visiting all the old characters from the past books and a few new ones.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
When it came to finding the artifacts .. the book slowed so much. I realize the book was about finding the artifacts and old family feuds but I guess it just got old and there was not enough action till the end of the book, when it all came together.
What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?
Amanda Ronconi's performance was good and she did an alright job with the accents, but again.. it was just lacking something.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Definitely not. Not enough action. I'd be sleeping before it was done.
Any additional comments?
Don't get me wrong it was a good book, I guess I was just disappointed with the book as a whole.

It bit: New York hotels cost an arm and a leg, and Terri had flown from England to help plan her cousin's wedding. The new in-laws offered lodging. But they were a weird bunch. There was the sometimes chipper, sometimes brooding Lucern, and the wacky stage-actor, Vincent. (She couldn't imagine Broadway casting a hungrier singing-and-dancing Dracula.) And then there was Bastien. Just looking into his eyes, Terri had to admit she was falling for him.

Love ...
Revisado: 03-20-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Tall, Dark & Hungry to be better than the print version?
I do not know, as I have not read the print edition to this book and doubt I ever will.
What did you like best about this story?
It was a sweet love story, as we're all the books in this series. If you enjoyed the others you will most likely enjoy this one. In a sense all the books follow a story pattern. Just the characters have changed. Still it is cute and leaves you with a happy heart and a smile.
What three words best describe Jeffrey Cummings’s performance?
Kind of stuffy. I don't know. I didn't particularly care for him but thought he did a decent enough job and you could for the most part always know who was talking just by the voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending probably moved me the most. It was a feel good kind of book.
Any additional comments?
There are quite a few love making scenes in this book. Usually I would not mention this but sometimes there can just be too much where it boarders on being smut.. this one got very close to being just that. Tastefully done of course.

Revisado: 03-14-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Seventh Grave and No Body to be better than the print version?
I have not read the printed version but would like to.
What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Lorelei King is one of best. When she does her thing you cannot tell she is reading from a book. She is spot on and every character has its unique voice and accent.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book made me laugh and cry. You can't help but love the main characters where you are always hoping everything will work out for the best. Unfortunately that doesn't always happen. I think this is the best series of books I have ever read. The last book was a little off but Ms. Jones pulled it off once again. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
Any additional comments?
If you have read and enjoyed all the other books in this series, i'd suggest you read this one as well. It will leave you just a little bit different than when you started it. With a big smile on your face!

This Book
Revisado: 03-11-15
What did you like best about Any Witch Way You Can (Wicked Witches of the Midwest Book 1)? What did you like least?
This book wasn't exactly what I had been hoping for. Actually I am not sure how I even made it to the end. Let's face it, the book was boring. It had no substance to it. Even the characters you do not get to know well. The entire book was focused on a house full of women that had to fight and bicker constantly, with a few dead bodies thrown in for good measure. How it could even claim to be a mystery book is beyond me as well. I guessed right away who it was because there was only a handful of people it could of been.
Could you see Any Witch Way You Can (Wicked Witches of the Midwest Book 1) being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
The performance was absolutely horrible. It sounded like someone was reading a book to me and not doing a very good job of it. At one point in the book she was actually reading with her nose plugged. It sounded so awful that I burst out laughing.
Any additional comments?
Both the author and the narrator need to get new jobs.

Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow—but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She's a paranormal private eye and grim reaper-in-training who's known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he's dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really. But when the FBI file on Reyes' childhood happens to land into her lap, she can't help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins.

Revisado: 03-02-15
Where does Sixth Grave on the Edge rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I enjoyed this book but not as well as the previous ones. Don't get me wrong, it was indeed an excellent book but this one seemed a little fragmented, harder to follow and know what is going on.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sixth Grave on the Edge?
The most memorable would be at the end when we find out Charley is pregnant. You can't help but feel pride for Charley and Reyes.
Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Ms. King's performance was spot on as usual. I don't think anybody else could fill her shoes in this performance or any of the previous ones. You can always tell who is speaking, especially if you have listened to all the books in the series.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and I almost did. I think I finished it off in three listens.
Any additional comments?
I sadly would have to agree with a few of the other reviewers, that this book was just not as good as the others. It was just lacking something I really can't put my finger on. I am a little reluctant to buy the seventh book but I will, just because I have so much invested in this series. I can't just walk away now.

Good Book...
Revisado: 02-25-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
This book was alright. I'd say it was definitely worth my time but it did need improvement in some areas. The main character, I'd say she was more ditzy than anything else and the questions. Always questions. She asked the same questions over and over again through out the book. So many questions and second guessing herself that it almost made me want to pull my hair out. Also, some of the situations she put herself in was just plain stupid. Kind off like walking out in front of a moving vehicle and hoping you don't get run over.
What about Elizabeth Klett’s performance did you like?
I thought her performance was pretty spot on. She has a very nice voice and played all the characters well.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Yes. I probably would go see it. Just to see if all the commotion going on in Veronica's mind calmed down.
Any additional comments?
I was not that impressed with this book but it was good and anybody who likes a little bit of mystery would probably enjoy this book. It was worth the credit I spent on it.

If you could sum up Once Haunted, Twice Shy in three words, what would they be?
Keeps your attention.
Which character – as performed by Kate Rudd – was your favorite?
I thought she did an excellent job with all the voices though it seems like those with that new Orleans drawl all sounded the same.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I both laughed and cried while reading this book. The crying part definitely caught me off guard though because the books have been a pretty light read. I guess it was too easy to get emotionally involved in the characters, a sign of a good book if you ask me.
Any additional comments?
If you read the first book in the series and enjoyed it you will definitely like this one.
It pretty much starts where the last one left off, with the axeman ready to make his come back into this world and resume his bloody rampage... leaving it up to Peyton to stop him.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Accidental Alchemist to be better than the print version?
I have not read the print version, but I imagine it would be just as good as the audio.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It had a great ending that left me smiling and in a good mood.
Have you listened to any of Julia Motyka’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This was the first time hearing Ms. Motyka's, but i loved her performance. She did a great job with all the voices.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
What moved me the most was the main characters need to help Dorian. Though at times it seemed so drawn out and moved slowly. Dorian was slowly turning to stone again and instead of working on the book, which she should of been doing she was taking long leisurely baths and slowly sipping her tea and taking long walks. Didn't remind me of someone who should of been busy saving Dorian.
Any additional comments?
The book was very good just too drawn out.

It Only Gets Better..
Revisado: 10-25-14
Where does Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I've listened to a lot of audio books. I have no way to rate the best but I'd say this book rates as one of the best.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the way Charley has evolved. Her snarkiness is about the same and she still has a knack for pissing people off but her heart is expanding and she is learning about forgiveness. She is also learning more about her powers as the grim reaper. Rock on Charley!
Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to her other performances and have never been dissatisfied. She has a great voice that never grates on your nerves and she performs each character well.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes. At the end of the book when her and her father begins to understand each other better and she finally begins to forgive him. Very touching.
Any additional comments?
This was a great book. I would recommend it to anybody that enjoys this type of book. But start at the beginning with book one so you can better understand Charley and what she has been through.
