Any additional comments?
Our heroine is funny and believable. She is troubled but lovable. Well written story-line and easy to follow with the distraction of traffic. Having male and female performers was great. Their delivery was not sleep inducing. Can't wait for the next installment in the series.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes. The story did not bring Lissa and Casmir Prakenskii home to meet her family. I don't understand why that wasn't done. It made it feel like Lissa's story was incomplete- like we were left in the hanging. We heard about Lissa's fear but not her facing that fear with her sisters helping her realize the true meaning of a loving family.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I did not see Lissa as being afraid of being abandoned. I can see how she would have that fear with the death of her parents at so young an age and that sorry excuse of an uncle. But why she would think her sisters would withdraw their love is mind boggling. This is one strong, courageous, resourceful woman yet she goes to Europe meets the love of her life and then doubts her sisters' love? How does that work? And to top things off we don't see the resolution of that before the story end? That is something I would definitely change about the story. If Lissa has this fear, we needed to see her and her sisters work it out.

Which character – as performed by Carol Monda – was your favorite?

Frankly there have just been too many narrators. Carol was adequate. I don't think one narrator did more than one story which is hard on the listener. The Lev-Levy name thing could easily have been a narrator change error instead of an author error. Do the narrators even know they are reading from a series? Do they listen to the other stories in the series?

What would have made this romance irresistible?

This is not only a stand alone romance, it is also part of a series that involves women who have formed a family. Lissa has five sisters who love and support her. Why isn't she confident in their love? Why doesn't she expect them to accept her choice of Casmir Prakenskii as she has supported their choices? At no point have her sisters not supported and encouraged her as far as we've seen. What is this lack of confidence about? It is just difficult to believe she would not bring Casmir Prakenskii home and expect their teasing acceptance of her choice. Why didn't we get to see that homecoming? Why? Was this story merely somehow the setup for the bringing home of the final Prakenskii brother, Blythe's husband? Frankly I hope Ms. Feehan takes the all the time she needs to tie things up well. I am wondering what will happen with the land that the Prakenskii boys are purchasing. Will it become more farmed land? Will there be more laborers or will the last brother's team "retire" on the farm? While Ricky and Lev don't want children will the other sisters have them? Are Arianna and Max pregnant? What about Judith and Stephan. So many things to wonder about and hope to see answered in the end.

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to the final installment of this series. I do not plan to get involved in anymore of series with this author. Each of the stories have had great potential but the continuity errors throughout the series detracted from a good chunk of the enjoyment the series offered. I think the stories also suffered from the changing narrators. Granted, none of the narrators were awful. It's just the different in narrators had a negative impact. Hopefully in the final installment we'll see Lissa and Casmir Prakenskii come home and Lissa will see that the love of her family accepts her as human with human frailties- even fear of abandonment- and love her because she's their sister. What she's kept secret does not change what she has meant to them. It just doesn't matter. I wish they'd had the opportunity to teach her that in this installment. Since that didn't happen perhaps she'll know it through watching as Blythe's story plays out.

What disappointed you about The Alpha's Mail Order Mate?

I think have no idea whether the story was any good or not. The point of any story is to try to suspend disbelief and enjoy the story that unfolds. The person reading The Alpha's Mail Order Mate was terrible. I could not stand to listen to the end of the first chapter. I don't understand why the story was released in this condition. I think this is one book it is better to read than to listen to this performer.

What didn’t you like about Jigisha Patel’s performance?

The performance was very poor, certainly not up to the standard one comes to expect from an Audible performers. The rhythm of the reading was totally off. I would give this performer a minus 10 for this effort. This is one I would be happy to get my money back and find time to read the story myself.

I am glad I got Cry Wolf first because this story felt rushed. While it explained some things that were referred to in Cry Wolf, I can understand why some who had gotten Alpha and Omega would want more of the story told. It just feels rushed and incomplete particularly in the final chapter.
I am happy to have this prequel mind, but I wish more care was taken in the reveal. I like the consistency of the narrator. Holter Graham brings just the touch to this book and Cry Wolf. Well done that they've kept him. I hope that continues throughout the series.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This premise of the story is wonderful but throughout it has suffered from poor in continuity. In Water Bound the first in the series, we learned that Ricki saved Levy (pronounced Lee-vi to make it sufficiently different from his true name Lev (pronounced like Bev- in Beverly).. His name was changed in Spirit Bound. In Air Bound learned that Jonas and Hannah had a boy that they hadn't named by the end of the story Yet here in Earth Bound he claim to have a girl. It is frustrating that such a wonderful series doesn't have somebody to catch these continuity errors. Not sure I will bother with another series by this author. It is really makes getting into the story hard when character details are not carried over to the next release.

Would you listen to Bound again? Why?

This story is dependent on at least the next book in the series for the resolution of the relationship between Ronin and Amery. The story is complex and really well written but without an ending the listener is left in the air about whether or not Amery and Ronin end up together. I intend to purchase the next story but I will be very careful about any other books I purchase from this author.

It is kind of mean-spirited to end a book with a cliffhanger without letting your audience know they may HAVE to purchase other books for closure to the story between the main characters. It kind of breaks the trust to do so without a warning. If the next book does not end the story I will not purchase any other book from this author no matter how well written. At issue is the trust between an author and the audience. Ms. James broke trust by not stating that at least one other book would be required.

I feel cheated. All Ms. James needed to do was say up front that BOUND was not a stand alone story and I should be prepared to purchase another in the series to complete the story. This was not done so I purchased the story and was broadsided when it the file ended and I did not know what happened to the main characters. I actually replayed the last chapter to see if I had been distracted and missed something. Once I purchase and listen to the next story if it is not clear that the Ronin and Amery story is ended one way or another, I will waste no more money on any thing by Ms. James.

The narrators did an excellent job. They really made listening to the story enjoyable. They add to the reason why I am willing to purchase one more in the series to get closure. Even with their stellar work though, if there does not end with closure for the Ronin and Amery story I will not purchase another of Ms. James' books. I will know that she does not really care about breaking the trust of her listener/readers.
