Historia
Cressida’s hopes for a relaxing journey are dashed when a gunshot resounds through the carriages. Industrial tycoon Lewis Warriner has been shot dead in his cabin. And as this train has been racing through the countryside, the culprit must be among Cressy’s fellow passengers. Teaming up with Detective Andrews of Scotland Yard, also on his way back to London, they work their way through the suspects. Did Warriner’s mistress, a famous dancer, see his death as her ticket on to the silver screen? Or was it the mysterious man who can’t take his eyes off Lewis’s close companion?

Great Chacter Development
Revisado: 09-20-24
I loved the interaction with the small boy, which brought some depth to Cressida's character, as well as the variety of characters on the Scottish Express.

Amateur writing and delivery
Revisado: 12-24-22
I almost didn't listen all the way through. The sheer number of "I said, he said, she said" in every narrative line was tedious. As a teacher I worked with my students to expand their writing vocabulary, and felt the need to work with this author to do the same. Changing it up with remarked, replied. commented. countered, noted... I could go on and on. but clearly the author cannot. The entire conversations and storyline are likewise lackluster and amateur, although the storyline involving the royals is likely to attract a certain cult following. The performance followed suit, apparently no one clued in the narrator or the presentation team that in a performance, the use of different voices negates the need for every "I said" and "he said" - especially when they are already overdone and superfluous. I'm not investing in any others in this series.

A bit too much coincidence
Revisado: 11-06-22
I do like the Underhay series, but I thought this storyline really pushed the envelope of believable coincidence in finding a way to put and keep Kitty in danger. I realize it is now a theme, but really, it must be marginally believable.

Andy Serkis does not disappoint!
Revisado: 10-09-22
The entire trilogy is Tolkien as we love him, and Andy Serkis is the consummate voice actor for this series. Not only is Gollum perfect, of course. but all of the voices are spot on, and his range of voice and emotion are superb. Listening to this audio recording enhanced my pleasure of re"reading" the book.

Good story
Revisado: 06-26-22
The story is great, but the author tends to get lost in repetitive forays into the thoughts and emotions of the main character, especially near the end of the story: as if to underscore time and again the moral dilemma and triumph she has projected. l find myself fast forwarding through much of this, as the repetition is a bit much.

Historia
In 48 hours, the Earth will be hit by a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the sun, a "Carrington Event" that has the power to shut down and possibly destroy the world's electrical infrastructure. To try and prevent permanent damage, everything goes dark prior to the hit: Global communications are shut down; hospital emergency generators are disconnected; the entire internet, media broadcasting, and cell phone systems are turned off. Will the world's population successfully defend itself in the wake of the CME, or will mass panic lead to the breakdown of society as we know it?

Terrible performance& unedited version
Revisado: 04-25-21
Beginning with the narrator pronouncing sword with the /w/ throughout, and finishing with the final chapter being the uncut mangled, constantly repeated mess, audible should not even have accepted this mess, and I will ask for a refund. Don't waste your time.
