the story and narrator flowed very well. I finished the book quickly and was engaged the whole time. but, it never really pulled me in or got me emotionally invested. when it was over I was kind of disappointed that nothing more profound emerged. ultimately, good story idea that never really hit the mark of making me feel profound emotions about the essence of humanity.

Inspiring story about living a good story

one of my top 5 favorite books of all time! it provides new language to describe the life i want to be living, gentle reminders about how to take full advantage of the gift that is life. The examples the author gives to clarify the premises are fun and light, not preachy, but authentically providing "self-help". It is a must read!

boring story from excellent writing

a very long story with no story line development, no arch no climatic events. It feels like it is telling the same story, with a new generation of characters, over and over again. The writing is really good, so it is worth reading a section, but there is no need to read beyond the first couple of chapters, nothing meaningful happens (except the last couple of pages, which is a cool idea).

I had to finish it because it was so weird and I needed to see where the author was going with it. But I didn't really enjoy it. It was a collection of strange details about house keeping, then a couple of completely left field twists that came out of nowhere and seemed desperate to make the story interesting.

listening helps with listening comprehension. its a good option to learn while driving. it would be near impossible to learn grammar this way. i also learned a lot about Brazilian culture and folklore

the book is very helpful. it should be an required read for all high schoolers, but it is useful for everyone. I will immediately listen to it a second time to better memorize the principles.

An inspiring story of an inspiring man.

I now have a new hero. The story is well lived and well told. I am inspired to spend more time in communties with the people I want to serve. I was reminded of the best things in life and the greatest (most worthwhile) struggles. The book is truely touching. Farmer is a reasonable man to be considered an ideal.
