Historia
Ben, Eileen, Alexander, and Richard are four of close to nine million people that were trapped within the Blue Hole Radius, in Southern California, and emerged into a world that is 1,410 years into their future. For every second that passed by inside of that radius, 23 and a half years passed by outside of the Radius. This resulted in the advent of the Blue Hole Radius, stalling time for those trapped inside for 1,410 years.

Again, it is the same solid storytelling from the first book. Great continued character development. You are drawn to the story and how it plays out. just like the first book, villains abound, and the ugly of humanity is on display. I really love the father figures in Muga's story. especially Ben's father. He reminds me of my wife's father; brass tacks and piss and vinegar. But able to read a room and adapt. We finally see some aliens, and I like the route that Muga took with their portrayal.

For five grand a month and a million-dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how crazy the old geezer was. All he had to do was keep Joseph Perry Shackleford alive and keep him from squandering the estate for a year. But they didn't tell him about the pixies.

I did not want this awesome ride to stop!
Revisado: 06-30-21
I have listened and or read just about everything that Nathan Lowell has done and I share to all my friends looking for a good adventure. He creates such compelling characters that I want to hang with. The Wizards Butler, again is a very interesting take and has such believable characters that when the book stopped I was disappointed. It can be a one off book, but I really hope that it isn't. There is still so much more story to play with. The reader, though being a one man show, does a great job of giving each character their own breadth and tone. It feels like a cast recording.

Historia
Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship - the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

The perfect snapshot of teenage life.
Revisado: 05-03-16
What did you love best about Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe?
This story spoke to the teenage me from years ago. The anger and angst of being a teenager and trying to figure out life and love. Especially in a Mexican household. I teach now and I see this particular story playing out in my students especially the G.L.B. community.
What did you like best about this story?
It was the words and descriptions that could be used to describe my life, without the outcome. The author captures a piece of teenage life that is real and does it in a cultural context that is true.
What about Lin-Manuel Miranda’s performance did you like?
I have heard him speak and read better. He plays the characters well but I would have liked a little more character to come through in his reading. At times its too stoic for my liking.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me cry in remembrance of my past.

Tee & Pip, Good Show!
Revisado: 02-05-16
Would you consider the audio edition of The Janus Affair to be better than the print version?
I have read the print version and in my mind I can hear Pip and Tee being the voices of Braun and Books. I have heard them often enough from their podcast which brings life to the stories. So in that regard the narrator is a little off putting, but he does a good job of keeping the story alive.
What other book might you compare The Janus Affair to and why?
It's a steampunk piece, so in that genre or style I really like Tee Morris' and Pip's other print pieces following the stories of Books and Braun. Phillipa Ballentine or "Pip Ballentine" has some other great pieces that I listen to over and over. Weather Child is a great story by Pip and her narration is rich in dynamics and emotion.
Which scene was your favorite?
The overall "love" story, that if you follow the podcast has been simmering under the surface, is the great FINALLY! moment that fans have been waiting for.
If you could take any character from The Janus Affair out to dinner, who would it be and why?
At first, I would say Eliza Braun but she may be too much of a night for me. Then I think to myself that Books is a pretty good guy and we share interests that we could have a beer and kick back with. I believe the younger me would say Braun, the current me says Books.

Historia
As the Empire reels from its critical defeats at the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance—now a fledgling New Republic—presses its advantage by hunting down the enemy’s scattered forces before they can regroup and retaliate. But above the remote planet Akiva, an ominous show of the enemy’s strength is unfolding. Out on a lone reconnaissance mission, pilot Wedge Antilles watches Imperial Star Destroyers gather like birds of prey circling for a kill, but he’s taken captive before he can report back to the New Republic leaders.

Not Your Average SW Book
Revisado: 12-15-15
Would you listen to Aftermath: Star Wars again? Why?
I would have to listen to it again just to understand all the interludes. The story itself is an adventure that fits into whatever the cannon is now. A good mother and son story with references to the Death Star and the Imperial Remnant. But all the interludes make it very hard to understand.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It was an expected ending especially if this is going to be a trilogy. It wraps up nicely but leaves a piece on the board to continue the game.
What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?
The many voices were great. I always appreciate the creativity and originality in a voice actor that can do a great job and provide levels to the reading and make it fun and enjoyable to listen to.
Any additional comments?
I am a fan of the SW Universe and I have read just about everything they have in literature. Books, Comics, and Magazines from the beginning to the future. I was deeply disturbed to find the change in the cannon that was going to occur but Why fight it? So I dove in and I have found the magazine short stories entertaining the new books are still finding their way. Its great to see adventures with my childhood friends again and I hope the next two books are better structured. I enjoy the work of the author and the performance of the narrator.

An acquired taste
Revisado: 12-02-15
What did you like best about The Andromeda Strain? What did you like least?
I was expecting something different. Not to say that what I got was bad, just not what I expected. The scientific and military explanations really are long winded and super detailed, which creates the air of believability and kept me listening, but in the end I got so lost in the jargon the end left me, "ehh"
Would you be willing to try another book from Michael Crichton? Why or why not?
I would be willing to try another book from Crichton.
Which scene was your favorite?
In the build-up to the end the scientists are underground dealing with the Andromeda Strain and all their personal fears and end of the Earth pressure on their shoulders. I did enjoy the realism of the scenario.
Do you think The Andromeda Strain needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
It was left with a big open ending. I did feel like I was left hanging. It really seems that the end came abruptly after the build up to the detonation. It almost seemed anti-climactic.

Great Story About the Grunts
Revisado: 12-02-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this book to a friend. I really enjoyed the look from the ground troops and the skirmishes that they have to deal with. It reminded me of the Republic Commando series. You really get into the heads of the ground troops and to hear and experience the fears and loses and the victories with them through the story, it kept me listening.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Battlefront: Twilight Company?
It would be the last battle of the book. The trust that you have to have in the people that you work with and trained is unbelievable. It felt like the A-Team or McGuyver pulling off the impossible.
Any additional comments?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, despite some of the early comments. The different locales and characters that are involved in this book do a great job of sharing time to tell a complete story. I really hope that we get to revisit this company again.
