Historia
The quiet of a Texas night is shattered by the sounds of screeching brakes, crumpling metal and, most shockingly, rapid gunfire. The auto accident Jack Ryan Jr thought he witnessed turned out to be a professional hit. Jack may be too late to save the victim, but he’ll be damned if he’s going to let the hitters escape justice. He’s got just one lead—a meeting the victim was going to. When Jack shows up instead, he’s drawn into the seedy underbelly of a small Texas town and the cold case of a college student who vanished from its streets.

Good action and movement….
Revisado: 11-30-23
Good story and great narration as usual by Mr. Brick. Plot was a little meandering but this story isn’t meant to be high literature. Enjoy it for what it is….excellent weapons details as usual as well as other military information. Good book!

Solid story, but definitely different. The storyline lost me sometimes with regards to names, but characters were good.

Historia
It is the most famous military installation in the world. And it doesn't exist. Located a mere s75 miles outside of Las Vegas in Nevada's desert, the base has never been acknowledged by the US government - but Area 51 has captivated imaginations for decades. Annie Jacobsen had exclusive access to 19 men who served the base proudly and secretly for decades and are now aged 75-92, and unprecedented access to 55 additional military and intelligence personnel, scientists, pilots, and engineers linked to the secret base, 32 of whom lived and worked there for extended periods.

Regardless of how you feel about some of the more esoteric stuff that the author mentions, this is a fantastic read for this ex-military guy. Lots of history, good details and more make this a fascinating listen. Some may quibble over the down-and-dirty facts, etc, but for a casual listener like me, this is good stuff.

Review: Fly By Wire (Larsen)
Revisado: 03-04-13
Coming from Clancy, I was expecting something similar, but have to admit...different and a good story. A bit far-fetched in some places...especially as compared to characters in the Harry Bosch series by Connelly, but overall, great escape listening (reading?).
Story moved well and plot was great. Jammer is a great character and looking forward to investigating other titles in the series.
----------------------------
Upshot? Good escape and action. Get it for this. If you're looking for something deeper or darker like Connelly, this is not for you....

Historia
Four years ago, LAPD detective Harry Bosch was on a movie set, asking questions about the murder of a young production assistant, when an armored car arrived with $2 million cash for use in a heist scene. In a life-imitates-art firestorm, a gang of masked men converged on the delivery and robbed the armored car with guns blazing. The crime was never resolved, and the young woman's murder was in the stack of unsolved-case files Bosch carried home the night he left the LAPD.

Great background and history...
Revisado: 09-04-12
What did you love best about The Wild Blue?
The things I liked best about The Wild Blue was that it portrayed both the B-24 as well as McGovern in a way that I had never heard about. The narration was good and crisp and it made for a great story.
