Historia
On October 5, 2017, the New York Times published an article by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey - and then the world changed. For months, Kantor and Twohey had been having confidential discussions with top actresses, former Weinstein employees, and other sources, learning of disturbing long-buried allegations. But nothing could have prepared them for what followed the publication of their Weinstein story. With superlative detail, insight, and journalistic expertise, Kantor and Twohey take us for the first time into the very heart of this social shift.

Investigative Journalism at its Best
Revisado: 02-24-20
This book is much more than the details of the deranged predator Harvey Weinstein. It's a look at how our culture sometimes responds to and excuses bad behavior when large amounts of money and power are at stake. At times it is a difficult read and hard to imagine something of this scale happing for so long unchecked. I am grateful for the tenacity of the authors and the people who came forward to make this book possible. Ultimately, it is a well-written story of hope.

Her victim impact statement was posted on BuzzFeed, where it instantly went viral. Now, she reclaims her identity to tell her story of trauma, transcendence, and the power of words.

A must read for everyone
Revisado: 02-24-20
This is not just a book for someone who has been the victim of a sexual assault. It should be required reading for everyone. Learning behind the scenes of our judicial system, personal biases, victim shaming, Stanford's priorities, and the prejudices of our culture was eye-opening. However, it is not a book of an angry woman ranting. It's the story of how Chanel reclaims her identity and fights to be humanized after being sexually assaulted by Brock Turner. Chanel is a gifted writer and I look forward to her next book whatever the topic might be.

Smart Women Portrayed as Idiots
Revisado: 03-04-18
What would have made Death of a Christmas Caterer better?
I would like to see more characters that are intelligent and clever. Not bumbling idiots.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Death of a Christmas Caterer?
The most appalling part of the book was when the heroine said to the person who had just committed an act of sexual assault....."We all do things we didn't mean when we are under the influence. No one will even remember this in 2 weeks." What kind of example is that for women!

Nice little cop story
Revisado: 01-02-17
this is a good little story. Well developed overall, believable as well. It was not easy to who the guilty party was. The one thing that always bothers me with Jason strong stories is it it is as if he does not have any link back to dispatch. As if he has to try and solve everything then when he can't at that time he called for backup or other patrolman. That should be done immediately as somebody is on their way. But other than that it actually is really good.

what a fantastic exciting story.
Revisado: 11-23-16
the story was a little short but exciting throughout. Well played. Absolutely. There were a few technical issues the probably took off being in a forest alone and not hearing too 30 guys jumping through the forest with chainsaws and even dropping. I would also say as a police officer before receiving exciting to the end

Short, but an entertaining read.
Revisado: 09-23-16
this is the first book in a series starting this strong Detective. it was a little bit slow at times but mostly the page kept up. It was an enjoyable story. it seems the guy overreact, but I've never been placed in that situation and with mental illness he may have snapped. It was an uncomfortable situation because you had two good families involved. I guess by making the biological father so bad it allowed us as readers to root for the adoptive family. I think the narrator did an excellent job and I would listen to another narration by him.

Nicolas Fox is a charming con man and master thief on the run. Kate O'Hare is the FBI agent who is hot on his trail. At least that's what everyone thinks. In reality Fox and O'Hare are secretly working together to bring down super criminals the law can't touch. Criminals like brutal casino magnate Evan Trace.

Revisado: 09-15-16
Scott Brick doesn't excellent job, as always, with this book. the story brings in our same characters again as part of the group. Good excitement. Shootout. and of course some humorous lines :-) this is probably the first one that ends as a cliffhanger though
