Masterpiece!

Absolutely loved this book. Long, yes, but so worth it. I own an abridged version, and now feel like I was robbed after hearing this unabridged version. So many great stories within the story. It would make a fantastic mini-series!
Wait and hope, my friends, wait and hope!

Weak
Revisado: 11-29-22
I listened to several episodes with guests that I like. A few sporadic funny moments, but I wasn’t entertained. They’re terrible interviewers, try way too hard to be funny, and frequently only ask questions so that they can talk even more about themselves. Pass.

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

Now I understand why so many college students are required to read this book. Brilliant on so many levels. This is one I’ll listen to again.

Historia
In 1819, the 240-ton Essex set sail from Nantucket on a routine voyage. Fifteen months later, in the farthest reaches of the South Pacific, it was repeatedly rammed and sunk by an 80-ton bull sperm whale. Its 20-man crew, fearing cannibals on the islands to the west, made for the 3,000-mile-distant coast of South America in three tiny boats. During 90 days at sea under horrendous conditions, the survivors clung to life as one by one, they succumbed to hunger, thirst, disease, and fear.
