Historia
The sleepy, eastern Washington wheat town of Antioch has become a gateway for the supernatural - from sightings of angels and a weeping crucifix to a self-proclaimed prophet with an astounding message. The national media and the curious all flock to the little town - a great boon for local business but not for Travis Jordan.

Heart achingly honest
Revisado: 02-29-24
I bought this book because it was listed in the sci-fi section and I thought it was going to be something supernatural or from aliens. I got through most of the book before I gave up on that hope.
I grew up in the world of this story. Memories were dredged up that I hadn’t thought about in 45 years or more. The author could not have written this book without also living in this world. You can’t make this stuff up.
I’m at peace with my journey and I believe the author is too. But there are many still caught in the web of Christian fundamentalism and Pentecostalism.
All said, I’m glad I listened to the book. But now I’m ready to get back to actual science fiction.

Where's the rest ? Intro to a Doctor Who play?
Revisado: 02-04-24
It ended just as it was getting to the good part. Is there more? Was this a preview? I hope so. I'd spend one of my precious audible credits to get the rest of the book.
Not all books presented as radio plays work but this production with professional voice actors and well integrated sound effects is as the Brits say "brilliant" but in a surreal Twin Peaks way (cue fretless bass).
Speaking of the Brits, I kept wondering when I'd catch the off-in-another-room sound of a blue police box arriving with the parking brakes on. But that’s a job for next gen AI. I’m going to enjoy the overlapping mashups of my favorite science fiction characters.

Not his best
Revisado: 11-18-23
I've been a Kadrey fan for years but I had to force myself to get through this.
Essentially it's a script for the 90s TV series "Angel" but without David Boreanaz and the cool fight scenes, complete with a Wolfram & Hart law firm, a young lawyer inevitably imagined as Christian Kane, and a stayed-tuned-for-more cliffhanger for the sequel.
It won't stop me from reading his next book as long as it's not a collaboration. Kadrey - in my soul's bookshelves your other books sit next to those of Harlan Ellison and Neil Gaiman.

Hilarious !!
The writing and voice acting are sensational. This "audio book" is just like an old radio show except that it is set in the 1960s.

Historia
From the acclaimed author of Infected comes an epic and exhilarating story of humanity’s secret battle against a horrific enemy. Across America, a mysterious pathogen transforms ordinary people into raging killers, psychopaths driven by a terrifying, alien agenda. The human race fights back, yet after every battle the disease responds, adapts, using sophisticated strategies and brilliant ruses to fool its pursuers. The only possible explanation: The epidemic is driven not by evolution but by some malevolent intelligence.

Scott Sigler: get over yourself !
Revisado: 07-30-22
I understand that the author started off narrating his own books because was self-publishing.
But enough already.
I'm only on the 2nd chapter of the 2nd volume in this series and I just realized that I can't do it again. And it's not just his dreadful female voice. It's all of them.
Sigler writes a decent cheap thrills page Turner. But it's not good enough to also overlook the ear-grating narrative voice.
I'm sending it back.

This delightful little story tells of a young girl's time with her grandmother as she relates the legend of how the mischievous little white fox with all his grand adventures going over, under and through became the red fox we know today. How the Fox Got His Color may well become an all time children's classic and a perfect audiobook for the young listener.

Helpful for language immersion
Revisado: 06-09-22
This kind of bilingual children's story is exactly what I have been searching for. The narrator who is proficient in both languages first reads a sentence in English then again in German. You get to hear the German immediately after hearing the meaning in English so that you don't have to meticulously translate word for word but rather take it in naturally as a child does when acquiring language.
I like this because I just listen Ina relaxed state instead of trying to force the translation. After listening several times the phrases in German become more and more familiar, understandable.
I'm going to see if the author has more children's stories.
I just have one criticism - the recording quality could be better. But the existing sound quality is good enough to clearly understand the spoken text. The meter and reading speed is good.

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

Nerdilicious
Revisado: 04-09-22
If you know the meaning of root kit, 42, and basic Star Trek lore then the Bobs are probably your tribe. So come on in, grab a bean bag chair in Virt, argue with a Borg drone over allowing Species 8472 into The Federation, and explore the galaxy with Bobs and friends.
The only disappointing thing is that they didn't get Wil Wheaton to narrate it but Ray Porter does a pretty good job.
Can't wait for the next Bobiverse adventure.

The epic and highly anticipated conclusion to the listener-favorite series that had countless Audible listeners (and employees) hooked from the very first Bob - featuring, as always, a flawless performance from the inimitable Ray Porter. Being a sentient spaceship really should be more fun. But after spreading out through space for almost a century, Bob and his clones just can't stay out of trouble. They've created enough colonies so humanity shouldn't go extinct.

Every now a book comes along that was so good I wish I could delete it from my memory just so I could read it again for the first time. I had to settle for just reading it again before reading the new Bobiverse book.

I made it to half way through the 3rd chapter, dialogue was too whiny and not clear enough to follow well.
