Too deductic.
Revisado: 01-12-19
It would've been better if written by one professional writer. Mr. Clinton is not my role model as a president or as a writer.

Historia
Iran has threatened to destroy Israel while developing the nuclear capability to do so. Struck by a medical emergency, Israel's Prime Minister falls unconscious just as military action is needed to stop Iran's nukes. History is now up to 35 Israelis aboard the Dolphin a powerful submarine armed with nuclear-tipped ballistic missiles. Ship unity is crucial to mission success, but deep conflicts rise to the surface among crew members who are ethnically diverse and ideologically divided.

A passionate moral fable, not a literature event
Revisado: 09-14-18
I share author's passion towards Israel and the enormity of problems it is facing. Looks like the main purpose of the book is to prove the right to defend the land and the soul of the Jewish people. Unfortunately, this primary objective negatively effects the story, makes the characters schematic (despite the great length of personal history and travails), and lessens the impact of the plot.

Historia
In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, and is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. Unexpectedly, his reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery.

Loved the language and the pace.
Revisado: 07-12-18
The story line is unusual as well as the life of the protagonist. The language is excuisit, the pace is beautifully designed to allow the feeling of the time, the details are as important as the story line. The characters are rich and miltilayered. The only criticism is mispronanciation of some Russian names, and placement of some historical events in history.
