I love this series, but the storyline didn't move anything along for me or keep me engaged. it didn't answer any real background questions. I understood that it was trying to step out of the box by going to Australia. I finished it but only because I hoped it would get better.

I couldn't stay attached to the story. I love the former narrator and I could not get behind the male voices of from this narrator. I didn't like the male characters coming from this narrator. It may not be her fault - I may have just liked the former narrator more. I don't know if I would listen to any additional books, and will probably read them. Also, I understand the other reviews, let's get more into Charlie's character, magical skills, and background. It's a better story than an extinct shark.

Hard Time Getting Past the Narrator

I have loved each of the prior books with this narrator, but the other reviews are spot on, she sounds like her mouth is swollen, with a lisp and/or its full of marbles. Maybe if I hadn't heard all of the other books and loved them, I wouldn't have as much of a problem, but I keep hoping that whatever happened to the narration will get better as the book continues. I love this series and the author, but its taking a lot of patience to get through this audio book.
