Historia
Set against the backdrop of the turbulent late 1960s and early 1970s, this compelling audiobook provides the first comprehensive history of the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, notorious for the abduction of Israeli Olympians by Palestinian terrorists and the hostages' tragic deaths after a botched rescue mission by the German police. Drawing on a wealth of newly available sources from the time, eminent historian David Clay Large explores the 1972 festival in all its ramifications.

Fantastic well researched book!

The book was so well researched but I did not like the narrator. His voice grated on me. He sounded uppity when he spoke.

Historia
Marcantonio Colonna's The Dictator Pope has rocked Rome and the entire Catholic Church with its portrait of an authoritarian, manipulative, and politically partisan pontiff. Occupying a privileged perch in Rome during the tumultuous first years of Francis' pontificate, Colonna was privy to the shock, dismay, and even panic that the reckless new pope engendered in the Church's most loyal and judicious leaders.

What an awful Pope
Revisado: 03-01-21
The book was very good although much was hard to understand and follow if you aren't in the know. This pope is pure evil. He is all political and vengeful. He has no love in him. He is the epitome of liberalism, which is a satanic evil. How can anyone be Catholic in good conscience knowing what goes on in Rome? Rome, the Holy See and the Vatican are corrupt and homosexual all the way to the core. Only once did I hear someone reference the Bible. Rome could care less what the Bible says. It's all what does the Pope say? What does the Vatican say? What does the Holy See Say? God has no place in the Vatican. He was exiled centuries ago by homosexuals pretending to be celibate and the power of the so called Vicar of Christ. Thank you for writing this book as people really need to know what is going on in Rome. The so called faithful should all leave in mas and find another religion faithful to the Bible.

Why we think it’s a great listen: A masterpiece like none other, Brooks’ powerful performance of Haley’s words has been known to leave listeners in tears. It begins with a birth in an African village in 1750, and ends two centuries later at a funeral in Arkansas. And in that time span, an unforgettable cast of men, women, and children come to life, many of them based on the people from Alex Haley's own family tree.

The narrator was fantastic! I don't know how many of the voices were his or were others helping him narrate with voices. The story is fantastic!I can't believe I'm 52 years old and I have finally read this book. I still have not seen the movie but I want to.

In depth dive into IF

The narrator is the author and she's wonderful!!!! I will need to re-listen to this book or buy a Kindle or paperback version. Sooo much to learn but overall very few "rules" to follow. We naturally fast when we sleep. The trick is to extend that till you feel comfortable with it. I am working on getting to 16:8.
