While on a fishing trip two men discover the ruins of an old house perched on the very edge of a cliff. In the ruins they discover an old manuscript that seems to suggest the house was once involved in something super natural, and horrific.

Has the reader never heard of emotion?

There are several versions available, choose a different one. This performer seems to be half asleep even when the narrator is screaming in terror. Turned this great classic into a looong slogging snooze-fest

Historia
No one in town has ever seen anything like it: a slimy, mobile tube of glistening yellow flesh with dull, staring eyes and an obscene, probing mouth. But the real horror is not what it looks like, or what it does when it invades your flesh - but what it makes you do to others.

Not a single character in this book is worth spending one introductory sentence with. I honestly thought part of the plot would reveal the reason every person in this book is a vapid, despicable, sex-offender.
Spoiler warning: it doesn’t.

Surreal fiction anthology, framed as a church service. Join Brother Reid, Pastor Andrew, and Sister Callista as we worship the Story. Behold the handsomely produced tales of dark humor, freakish sci-fi, and oddly touching literary horror. Hear our greasy prayers! Delight in our healthy psalms, uh huh. wonderful weird fiction
Revisado: 04-28-21
I've been listing to this pod for a few months ago and the quality and surprising strangeness of the stories overall are spectacular. while there are a few misses here and there, even they are still better than many other podcasts overall library.
give a few of these a listen. if your ears don't crawl off the side of your head, you'll be hooked.
the story must be told.

The places in this book are shunned, abandoned, and forgotten. They do not exist, and yet here you will find the stories of people who have gone and survived to tell their tales. These are the postcards from the void, frightful evidence of places that should not be, and yet exist in our nightmares. Should you dare to venture into these blighted places, remember: Don't talk to strangers, don't stray far from home, and never, ever go in alone.

There are a couple of gems here, but for the most part, once you’ve read two or three stories, you will know the plot and pace of the rest
