Historia
1:1s are arguably one of the most critical meeting types for the success of team members, managers, coaches, teams, and organizations. The best managers recognize that 1:1s are not an add-on to their role as a manager. Conducting 1:1s successfully are foundational to being a manager. At the same time, these meetings are the core of a direct report's experience and development at work, including how well they engage and attach to their role, perceive the effectiveness of their manager, and envision their future at the organization.

Narration issues
Revisado: 09-29-24
Focusing exclusively on the narration of this audiobook, I found the frequent mispronunciation of words to be so distracting that I became detached from the content. My dyslexia makes physical and electronic books difficult to consume. This narration makes me appreciate those dedicated to annunciation and elocution-the skills of reading aloud.

Struggled to relate
Revisado: 11-19-22
I deeply appreciate the vulnerability displayed in this book. As a new manager, looking for advice on how to be my best self for my reports and my company, I found this book to be a disappointment.
As a new manager, I found this book difficult to relate to. The author’s experience getting to the role was privileged and protected. I couldn’t relate to anything in her background. I persisted through the book hoping to find something I could glean from this story. Mostly, I found myself rolling my eyes as clichés and other peoples quotes and experiences are used almost as if they are personal wisdom. The author seems to have had a sheltered and privileged life, which make the words of wisdom and inspiration feel like they’re not lived in and not earned.
