As someone who values self-discipline, personal growth, and pushing the boundaries of one’s potential, I found Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins to be an electrifying and deeply motivating audiobook. Goggins’ life story is not just about overcoming adversity but transcending the limitations of the mind to discover untapped reserves of strength and resilience.

What struck me most is his concept of “callousing the mind,” a process that resonates with my belief in forging a deeper connection with universal energies through daily discipline. Goggins doesn’t just endure hardship; he uses it as fuel to achieve greatness. This aligns with my own journey of personal transformation, especially as I approach a milestone age where I feel compelled to manifest my purpose more fully.

Goggins’ story of rising above abuse, obesity, and societal expectations is an ode to the power of intentional action. As someone who practices yoga and values self-reflection, I appreciate his relentless pursuit of self-awareness. His method of accountability mirrors the practice of journaling and mindfulness that I hold dear.

The audiobook format, where Goggins and his co-author engage in raw, insightful commentary, feels like a podcast—dynamic and deeply engaging. It is less a narration and more a conversation, which makes the lessons even more impactful.

While Goggins’ approach is undeniably intense—bordering on brutal at times—it’s a reminder of the strength required to break free from inertia (tamas) and fully embrace the energy of action (rajas) and transcendence (sattva).

I also found parallels between his emphasis on mental fortitude and my own practices, such as exploring the universe within through yoga, meditation, and visualization. His “accountability mirror” is akin to the self-inquiry of Advaita Vedanta, asking us to confront our fears and limitations head-on.

In summary, Can’t Hurt Me is not just a memoir; it’s a challenge to redefine what we think is possible. For anyone, like me, who seeks to integrate resilience and purpose into daily life, Goggins’ story serves as both an inspiration and a call to action. Whether you’re conquering physical challenges or striving for spiritual growth, this audiobook offers lessons that resonate far beyond its pages.

Why is it important for women to read this book? If women want a real, no bullshit guide to a successful relationship with men, they need not only to read and understand the principles in this book, they also need to embrace the principles in their lives.

Finally, my 20 year dream to see an audio version of this book became reality. Listening to this novel without reading it is way harder than I thought and many times I missed parts because I fell asleep or my attention went elsewhere. But I like the choice of narrators, the rhythm, and moreover the prose! Thank you for making it happen audible.

D'une manière authentique Monsieur Lipton propose non seulement des solutions aux maux de l'être, mais aussi une historique du parcours qui la amener à trouver des solutions et à changer sa propre vie. Monsieur Lipton n'a rien à cacher.
