Historia
Meet Harry, aspiring tech entrepreneur. He’s a would-be Steve Jobs trapped in a cubicle gig at an angel investor firm, so close and yet so far from his dreams. His marriage is foundering, his career is stalled out, and all he wants is to create an app like Uber, or Tinder, something to make real change in the world, and change his own life forever. Now meet Peter, a deeply troubled computer genius who lives in a basement apartment, chugging red wine, nursing old grudges and writing code. When Harry meets Peter, it’s both of their lives that will change, when they invent an app for murder.

Dark Comedy
Revisado: 07-19-24
The “strangers on a train” motif has been done many times over, but this is the first version I’ve seen using modern technology via the dark web. Winters is a seasoned writer, and I appreciated the way he slowly unveiled the many flaws and character defects of the protagonist. While this was not a classic read, it was an interesting one.

Historia
When Brian Holloway (Jack Quaid, The Boys) was hired by famous horror author Paul Robinette (Titus Welliver, Bosch) to crack an antique safe in his home, he had no idea what he was about to encounter. Opening that safe door unleashed something sinister — something that continues to haunt him. But what exactly? And can whatever slipped through that threshold be stopped?

Disappointing
Revisado: 07-09-24
As a huge fan of anything by Michael Connelly, I was very disappointed in this short ghost story. Although the audiobook seemed to have a lot of potential in the beginning, neither the story or the characters completely came together for me. As other reviewers have pointed out, “Safe Man” would likely have been better if Connelly had written it as a full-length novel, as this would have given the him more room to expand the plot, increase the tension, and incorporate the twists and turns that make up the Harry Bosch series. Actually, I would have preferred giving the story 2 ½ stars; however, I have rounded it up to a 3/star rating.

Three Reviewers Geared Towards A Limited Audience
Revisado: 05-18-20
In selecting these three women as their reviewers, Audible seems to be catering exclusively to their female readers. Just as my wife and I read a different collection of books, it would be nice to have at least one male reviewer who could offer a different perspective on Audible choices. I found this Audible Original as a total waste of time.

More diversity needed among reviewers
Revisado: 05-18-20
This Audible program consists of three female reviewers discussing books that would be interesting among their female listeners. I enjoy Audible & would like to hear reviews that I can relate to as a middle-aged male. My wife and I are both avid readers; however, our reading tastes are far different. Although Audible does a great job among their listening choices, I am very disappointed in their lack of diversity among their reviewers. After listening to this review, I felt as if I had sat in on a conversation with my daughter and two of her friends, while they discussed their favorite books.
