i just couldnt get through this one. i love whitney g..usually. not this one. it was ridiculous and if i knew someone who was like this i would hate them. im the least feminist woman alive...i couldnt care less, but come on... this is an insult. it couldve been hot, but instead i was just repeating oh come on all the way through what i could deal with of this book. if you want to listen to a good whitney g book, reasonable doubt is the best. i dont know what happened with this one but dont bother.

It was taboo filth at its finest. It wasn't truely bad but it wasn't one i'll reread either. What it also was is sacrilege as bad as it could be just to really push limits for no real reason than to shock. The narration was actually decent. It has its twists and turns that kept me listening but it being dirty and hot was what truly kept me listening.

i hate not being able to fully get into a story. harley & rose was one of them. the narration wasn't any help either but it just... it was weak and every other chapter is a flashback which i skipped through most of because it was more irritating than interesting. very angst driven from start to finish.

This book. It's annoying. The dialogue is ridiculous. Dang near a whole chapter on her horoscope? If i heard her say "my start-up" one more time, I'd have torn up my headphones. It had such good ratings and I'm so dissapointed.

Maybe I'm just too old for this

Seriously felt like an adult at the children's table with this one. It's sugary sweet disney, with just a hint of r rate sprinkled in. Fairytales do come true, gorgeous girl doesn't know she is and then suddenly becomes popular, feel like I've seen this movie kinda thing.

I'm eight chapters in right at this moment. I promise you, at this point if I hear one more "bruh" again.....let's put it this way, if I was to use this for a drinking game, I wouldn't be able to write this review now. I'm actually listening to it still as pure comedy.

For the record... I made it to hour 2 and gave up. I had high hopes for this story, saw the reviews and got excited. I'm apparently in the 8% because here I am with this review. The narration was painful and the whole thing was irritating. Worst fake southern accent in history and the story was just.. I don't even know honestly. It rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it was just the narration because the plot seemed like a great idea but then it had far too much dialogue that was extremely unnecessary. Honestly, I wish I had more to give on it but it was hard to put my finger on just one thing. I'm very surprised this had so many good reviews.

Heartbreaking and heavy

Wow. This one was emotional. I hesitated on the book because I read the preview and could see it would be a heavy story, but after hating the last three I listened to, I finally landed on this one. I'm glad I did. It was adult...something a lot of books have been lacking, and it was deeply heartbreaking and beautiful. At 32, finding a great story that doesn't revolve around college age is getting more difficult, and its hard to get into the mind set.. here, you're dealing with loss and pain that play on your biggest fears. The author nailed it, there were eye roll moments, but at the same time they were fairly relatable. I formed an emotional bond to the characters and even found myself so sad I was throwing it aside only to pick it right back up because I had to know what was next. Brian Pallino was the other reason I finally decided on this one, he and Erin Mallon both are fantastic. Great read, fantastic listen, but prepare yourself to feel the emotions.
