This book does a great job diving deep into trauma and the impact it has on the individuals health and society if left untreated which usually is the case. Most importantly though it discusses a powerful breakthrough treatment called DSR that can help you get your life back,

In 2022 wife and I both were experiencing PTSI symptoms. It was torture and I was desperate to find a solution. I came across Dr Lipov’s work and the DSR injection. We did the procedure and it was very successful for us both and have us relief wishing 48 hours. It helped reset the sympathetic nervous system so we could calm the amygdala down and do other modalities to heal. This is a great book that explains DSR in depth and the importance of treating trauma to avoid it from causing health issues, suicide and other problems .

What would have made Get a Grip better?

The way the book is written with multiple characters is hard to follow. It's even more challenging to extract business advice in order to apply it. Traction was a helpful book. This one could have been if the format was easier to follow.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

What would have made Forever Fat Loss better?

The audio book would have been better with a different narrator. The author left all ALL of his sales pitches for other products and programs he's selling. The author came across in a more compassionate way and somewhat in touch with what it's like to deal with weight issues. It would have been nice if he didn't call over weight people "fat" throughout the book and offered more research on the psychological / emotions reasons people gain/keep weight on. This book reminds me of every other diet book it's pretty much the paleo diet.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I really like Marc David's work. He is much more compassionate and in touch with current research and realistic / reasonable weight management strategies.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His voice came across as cold and condescending like he was just reading words off a page. Had more of a "sage on the stage" instead of a warm compassionate person engaged in the material. He sounded like a used call sales man to me.

Any additional comments?

The author needs to cut the promotional sales pitches throughout the book. His nutritional plan is just like the paleo diet and is full of rules and restrictions even if he says that it's not. Most of his suggestions are unreasonable like buying a treadmill desk for work or moving constantly all day long. Definitely needs to get a better grasp on what will work for real people in the real world.

What did you love best about Mind/Body Nutrition?

The loved learning about the psychology of food and nutrition. I also appreciated how Marc David debunked all the diet myths out there. Finally someone who tells it like it is = there is no one size fits all diet/nutritional plan.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had a number of "ah ha" moments and have already began applying these strategies and lessons to my life.

Any additional comments?

This is the perfect book for anyone who struggles to make sense of the diet/nutritional industry that's looking for truthful information and a plan that actually works. Those of us who've tried everything out there and are wondering why we lose weight only to gain it right back will enjoy this book.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I was really excited to listen to these lectures because it sounds like such an interesting subject. Unfortunately, these lectures are dry fact based biological lectures about the brain. The instructor has a flat monotone voice. He over uses research and studies. It reminds me of a boring University course I once took. The instructor misses the opportunity to engage listeners because he's just dolling out facts and research...talking at listeners instead of having a conversation with listeners. The overall quality to me is far below other Great Courses. This instructor should stick to teaching college courses.

Would you ever listen to anything by The Great Courses again?

Yes

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Flat boring monotone voice

Definitely not one of Caroline's best books

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The book bounces back and forth from Caroline to Andrew. They each have a unique and distinct voice that didn't compliment each other. Andrew's tone is forceful and unappealing. There wasn't a lot of flow with the topics and I felt like a ping pong ball listening to it listening to it.

I usually love her books, but this one is my least favorite. They both talk at what sounds like a "high level". However, to me, it just didn't make much sense. I feel they need to use language and speak to the general public/audience and they clearly didn't consider that when writing or recording the books.

Has The Soulmate Contract turned you off from other books in this genre?

no

Would you be willing to try another one of Caroline Myss and Andrew Harvey ’s performances?

no

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This book needed a clear concise story line structure and better flow.

What could Gary Renard have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Charged the format and refrained from using so many person stories that seemed irrelevant to the Course in Miracles. He definitely should gave left out promotion of his others books.

What didn’t you like about Gary Renard’s performance?

It didn't read like a book, it just sounded like a guy going off on a tangent. I felt as though he just spent a few hours talking into a recoding device about whatever came to mind. He also spent WAY TOO much time promoting this other book. There was no logical flow. I've read the Course in Miracles and was hoping for a simple explanation of the text, but Renard made it more confusing and complicated.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

This book had a few good moments, and Renard made some relevant points that clarified what the Course in Miracles.

Would you consider the audio edition of Desperate Marriages to be better than the print version?

The content is relevant to contemporary relationships even if the stories included are dated. It covers a broad range of important topics and has helped my husband and I work through a few of our relational challenges. I'd definitely recommend it to others looking for a theraputic aid.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did have an extreme reaction to the material. I uncovered personal issues that I'd long since barried that were inhibiting my life and marriage. I had a stong reaction to one of the stories and after further investigation found out something that had happened to me as a child. Now I'm able to work on it and release it.

Any additional comments?

It's a good starting point for any couple.
