Its a shame his opinions or even his books are all but missing from our schools today. How could current curriculums stand up to his simple reasoning?

Surprisingly Great
Revisado: 04-17-24
Author knits a great story. Its entertaining and made surprisingly great by adding so many details that come together unexpectedly. This is the best Apocalypse trilogy that I have read...better than most any trilogy in that with each book the story gets better.

Great story with some new turns.
Revisado: 04-05-24
Slow start but worth the effort to stick with it. Interesting and eclectic cast of characters. Love that it wasn't they typical story about the ex-SEAL turned survivalist. It was about you or me turned embracing and engaging the will to survive within one of the possible scenarios of what could be.

Impressive story
Revisado: 11-17-22
Having only a basic understanding of The Old Guards function, this book left me deeply impressed and full of admiration for these soldiers. What an accomplishment to have earned the right to walk among their ranks.
'Sacred Duty details the formation, history since its inception and the mission associated with the many parts of this storied unit. Who would have guessed active duty soldiers are trained in shoeing horses? I wish my recruiter had told me that!
This book inspires imagination and teaches lessons of commitment and honor. We are all a part of something so much bigger than ourselves. You may not wear a uniform, maybe you don't even believe in those who do. Yet knowing there are men and woman who choose to wear one and sacrifice so much for our way of life has to make you feel proud to be an American!
I love how this book makes me feel!!

Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Revisado: 11-08-22
This is an interesting well reseached and compelling read. Science, evolution, psychology history and so much more, well defined and presented in accessible language all woven onto the history and path of mankind. Most of the facts and theories given may not be new; Its the presentation and the comprehensive world-view analysis that make this work so engaging.

If it seems to you that Barack Obama and Joe Biden have weakened America and emboldened our enemies, you’re not alone. But Senator Cotton explains that their failures aren’t just incompetence or bad luck—it’s decline by design. Only the Strong reveals the untold inside story of how progressive ideologues and Democratic politicians abandoned the American tradition of strength, pride, and honor.

Secure the Blessings of Liberty...
Revisado: 11-07-22
Balance is required as we move forward as a country. Senator Cotton defends his opinions with honesty and verifiable record. You may not like what he says but there is little room to argue the validity and quality of his argument.
Senator Cotton highlights historical as well as current events through his personal lense of political philosophy. He details support of his thinking using examples of arguments made in The Federalist Papers and quoting notable political figures.
Some may not like the light he views or comments on certain Democratic figures. However he provides enough verifiable truth to give reason and argument that make his message impossible to simply dismiss.
I found the book historicaly interesting, his arguments well defended and his message imperative

Not ALL I hoped for a lot more than I expected
Revisado: 11-02-22
I rarely give five stars; it is well earned in this case.
superficially, this is a wonderful, readable story.. The writing is fantastic,, each character unique and their journeys, all of them so interesting and compelling.
yet there is so much more than a great story here..
I will reread this immediately to better appreciate the subtle tips and processes used to better see the hidden issues we all have. Through a therapist lense we see many different patients and many more problems. Keys to see and better interpret these troubled issues are given within basic terms and easy to understand scenarios. The reader needs only to work at how to candidly view their own life to gain, almost certainly, a personal clarity.
its not a self help book. It will take far more reflection and candor to find the advise, the experience provided, to improve or help yourself. The map is there if you choose to dig for it.
Ultimately, what I came to find I may have missed on my first pass. Even so, if its only that one issue that eludes me, there is still a vast treasure worth uncovering within these stories. And if your not looking for anything, these stories are beautiful, personal and so moving.

just different enough to stand alone among a very popular genre. the story moved quickly through a variety of interesting scenarios. The history and geography of the setting is what makes this story a stand out for me. Shadowing Native Americans both in skill and history is an interesting dynamic to this story. I can't wait to start book two.
