moving to tbr-male narrator is a no go

I'm a St. Clair fan and will read this one too but it's getting moved to regular reading TBR cause the male narrators regular male voice for the mmc is fine, I'd listen to him reading something in only a normal voice, but the whole switch up to the voices for the other characters (especially the childish mousy sounding female attempts) literally ruins any further listening.

ruined by a grown man making out with a minor if I could give negative stars I would

Literally no logic or reason for you to write a minor and a grown adult being sexual on any level. There's enough sick crap going on in real life that you don't have to chose to create it in fantasy like this, like it's just normal to write about a military man willingly lusting for and making out with a minor. She told him she's a minor and you chose to move forward with them making out anyways and that's a shame on you and your attempts to write.
As a parent it's infuriating. I hope you chose to be a better and responsible adult in the future, especially if you chose to continue a career that involves influencing a large platform of ppl.

Best break down I've heard so far

I've listened to/attended a lot of these over the years, out of need to improve debt issues and curiousity to keep learning, she's not reinventing the wheel but she has been the easiest to follow and best break down of anyone I've heard so far. Hit's all the points, explains much better some of the complicated things, and brings forth somethings I've noticed most miss or tell you to dig into on your own but they are actually really important points.

Good story but no on the narrator

The story is good but I am struggling so bad too get through it that I'm writing a review half way through the book. I don't even know how to describe what she is doing. Everyone except Sabel, her seamstress friend, a female Dr., and a few others sounds like a decrepit old, old, person with some sort of throat sickness. Male or female you can't tell a difference. To the point I'll never pay to listen to another book she's done, which is a shame, she's got a nice voice normally.

can't even finish it, she's such a dang brat

I sucked up the continuously annoying main character's self doubt all through the second book because it's not a bad story, but I'm seven chapters in on this one, and I'm out. Tess is one of, if not the most, self serving brat I've ever experienced in a book. Zero concern for anything or anyone except what she wants. Seriously ruined the series because I felt like I was listening about a character that should have been discribed as a five year old with special powers. Terrible example of a strong female lead.

seriously self doubting lead character

The lead female being written as a constant Debby downer on herself is beyond annoying, she doesn't have to be an all the time self involved twit, obviously, but the way she doubts everything all the time is a killer to making the story a very good one and takes it down to good with an annoying lead.

Narrator is UGH...

Story is what you'd expect, but the narrator's "southern accent" is HORRIBLE. And that's being nice about it. It's that bad. Damn near ruined the whole book. I was able to fast forward through several of those moments and not lose the story. But consider your self warned.

Good story, annoying narration

I enjoyed the story started reading it first then transferred over to audio to finish it. Almost couldn't finish it due to the narrator's horrible interpretation of the mens voices. She did fine on the female reading but the male readings is bad enough to almost ruin the entire book. I won't be able to listen to the next one if she's reading it, I'll just have to put it on hold until I have time to do finish the book version.

The ending made the whole book a waste of time.

I won't spoil it for ppl who may enjoy this author in venal bit those particular book could have ended much much better. I gave it two stars because there were a few spots in the book that peeked my interest and actually kept me wanting to listen. But the ending is garbage.
