It was okay.

The story itself was pretty good, even with characters who you love to hate.
The narrator's over enunciation of the word "to" every single time was almost enough to make me stop listening. It was so jarring that it breaks emersion.

Fantastic Narration!

Pay attention to the trigger warnings. This poor girl goes through so much! I remember wondering if she would ever catch a break.
The story was good, and the narrator, Christine brought the characters to life. She made each character unique and believable. She is one to watch!

This isn't usually a genre I go for, but Cynthia Winsor made it really easy to listen to. Her portrayal of the characters was (I believe) spot on. She has the perfect voice for this genre as well, which makes me want to listen to more of it. I couldn't stop listening!

It was a drunken dare. That’s it. There’s no way I would have thought things were going to turn out the way they did. He was annoying, rude, and just plain disrespectful. It was so hard just to sit through a date with him. But the longer he remained on the show, the more I started to see him. Once I stopped playing the game, and allowed things to happen the way they were meant to...I realized there was a lot more to Monte Claire than I had given him credit for. And everything that he was, was exactly what I needed.

I received a free copy of the audiobook for an honest review.
This was my first time listening to a title by Jenay Balderas. The story was pretty good. I did like the concept of the gameshow, as well as the fact that it happens as I've always believed shows like that actually occur. (Trying not to spoil things.)
I love that Sammy is taking back her life after a difficult situation. Monte learns a lot along the way as well which is easily seen in the progression of the story.
The performance by Jynelle Brown was really good. There was a clear distinction between all the characters, and I could envision them and their facial expressions/attitudes when they spoke. I really enjoyed listening to her read this. There were a couple of spots where it sounded as though a retake was left in the audio during production, but I could be wrong since I didn't read along as I listened. When I searched for her name, this was the only title I found, so I think she's new on the scene and will be one to watch as she grows in her craft. She did an amazing job bringing the characters to life for me, and her voice is definitely easy to listen to.
