One of My Favorites!

I love historical fiction! And I especially love it when there is a past and present story! This book delivers on every account. Kelly Rimmer delivers in her writing with the characters of Alina and Alice bringing to life their stories and invoking the reader to really experience their life and emotions. I highly recommend you listen to this novel.

You will love this Thriller!

Two stories woven into one and I loved them both. Then tie those stories into a murder and you have a thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

Beautifully written

This is a beautifully written book. Just listening to the description of the North Carolina coast (where I live) made me relaxed and happy. It does have the fragrance of "To Kill A Mocking Bird" which is one of my favorite pieces of literature. I have put it on my Top 5 list for the year and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Like watching a train wreck

I kept saying to myself "Why are you still listening to this book"?! It was like watching a train wreck! I think that if the book had been shorter it would have made it bearable.

Let down at the end

This was the first book I have "read" by Sparks. I have seen all the movies, but not "read" the books. It follows Sparks typical story line, but it was a beautiful love story that didn't require much thought. A great summer read. The only part I didn't like was how Sparks comes on at the beginning sharing that this was a true story only to reveal at the end that it was fiction. That made me angry. Other than that it was a pleasant book.

This story will keep you on the edge of your seat. I love the characters and how Quinn weaves their stories throughout the book. You will not be disappointed.

Not my favorite

This was not my favorite Paula McLain book. I loved "The Paris Wife" and "Circling the Sun", but this one left me a little bored and agitated. Of course, it is based on the true story of Gelhorn & Hemmingway but I found myself bored during the Spanish war section and aggravated with Gelhorn.

This book is so beautifully written. I have been to Alaska and the physical description Hannah writes is on target. This book will truly make you celebrate at the end!

A Must Read!!!!

This is one of the best books I have "read" in years! Keep in mind that my favorite genre is historical fiction - so this taps right in to my favorites! You will fall in love with the characters, and although this is sad true story, it really does make you smile at the end. Every person who has read it after I recommended it to them has loved it. I hope you do too.

Love these girls!

This was such a fun book! Yes, it will make you laugh and cry but I loved that each of the girls narrated their chapters. When George H. W. Bush died recently I was reminded of the beautiful stories the girls told about Poppy. As the mother of four daughters I only hope that they will experience this incredible bond throughout their life.
