Great story of friendships, love and perseverance

This ended up being a great book! At times it was difficult to hear about the physical abuse Cora endured at the hands of her husband and the emotional and psychological abuse Cora and Lenny endured for so many years at the hand of Ernst, and it infuriated me to hear how many times Cora took him back but it also showed her deep love for him and understanding of his own pain from Vietnam. The love story between Matthew and Lenny was so sweet and heartbreaking but in the end, I felt like it was exactly how it should have ended. Well written!

Sadly shocking true story of today’s times of social media and the harm it is causing on children

Very courageous of her to write her story of the disturbing things her mother did to her and the whole family! I would say 90% of the information had already been on the news, but it was a well written book and she should be proud for all she did to stand up to her mother and all she did to help her siblings!

Great suspense and character perspective

I really enjoyed the character perspective from which the story was told. I also appreciated that the author gave us a richly detailed villain (even alluding to the possible reason they were so villainous), without giving them a real voice or an ounce of our pity. The suspense was consistent throughout and intense. The conclusion was satisfying and although the book itself was a quick read, the story didn't feel rushed.

The best book I’ve read in a long time

I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading! It had me on the edge of my seat and just when I thought I knew you did it, the twists and turns were so unexpected!!! I can’t wait to read another book by this author!!!

Great and intriguing and captivating book

This book had me intrigued from the beginning and had me captivated through out the story! Interesting turn of events although I saw it coming towards the end. Highly recommended!
