Historia
For Vincent Donnelly, waking up in a field in the middle of nowhere was just the beginning. Frantic and terrified, he has no idea who he is, or how he got there. Nor does he know the five dead bodies lying next to him. All he knows for sure is that he hears whispering in his head. Voices that are not his own. This audio box set contains books 1–3 of the Jigsaw of Souls series

enjoying enough to buy next in series
Revisado: 08-24-24
main character is getting a little frustrating in his slow ability to grasp what's going on, at times he seems downright stupid, and fails to ask obvious questions that feel like cheap tricks to keep a mystery unanswered. his constant montra of "i dont know" and "i dont understand" are overused. at this point it's obvious where the story is going next, but there are just enough twists and novelties that I'm still interested how he gets there.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Historia
After the loss of his parents, young Jack Thatch first met Stella as a child - this cryptic little girl of eight with dark hair and darker eyes, sitting alone on a bench in the cemetery clutching her favorite book. The body of a man found in an alley, every inch of his flesh horribly burned, yet his clothing completely untouched. For Detective Faustino Brier, this wasn't the first, and he knew it wouldn't be the last. Isolated and locked away from the world in a shadowy lab, a little boy known only as Subject "D" waits, grows, learns. He's permitted to speak to no one.

slow start but worth it
Revisado: 08-20-21
it was a little slow to start and it's difficult to like some of the characters at first, but I was somehow compelled enough to stick with it and it payed off. nice interweaving, bringing things together, and opening up the mystery as we went. partially predictable and some dumb character behavior was frustrating, but that's a horror staple I guess.

This recording is awful! The sound effects are overbearing and make it very difficult to hear the narrator. From what I can hear, the narrator's kadence is very odd, making the old English that much more difficult to understand. I'm excited to hear this story but I will be returning this recording and finding a different version.

Historia
The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.

Historia
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

Historia
The War of the Rebellion is over, and the members of the American Gun Club, bored with inactivity, look around for a new project. At last they have it: "We will build the greatest projectile the world has ever seen and make the moon our 38th state!" When From the Earth to the Moon was published in 1865, it was regarded as pure fantasy. Who could imagine a rocket that would carry men and animals through space?

Didn't age as well as some
Revisado: 10-31-20
I like Jules Verne in general but this is one of those stories that is less entertaining with modern advancements and mind. The narrator was not particularly enjoyable to listen to either, His style actually made the story feel more dated. Thankfully it is not a terribly long book and the ending is actually the best part of the story.
