Entering into the adult world after college is both one of the most exciting and the most terrifying things. And finding a job is arguably one of the hardest practices to get behind once you officially become a member of the adult world. I know from my personal experience, I found the idea of job hunting to be daunting and intimidating. Where do I start? How do I write a resume? What are some good and bad interview techniques? And how do I know if a job is actually a good one or not?

Emily Anderson lays it all out for you, quick and straight to the point. She walks you through each process and breaks it down into the Do's and Don't's of what to do when applying, when writing a resume, when interviewing, and even when you go in for your very first day. I know I found a lot of this to be very helpful advice and I would strongly recommend this book for anyone who is feeling a little lost in regards of where to take their next steps in the career world.

I'll admit it: most of the workings of the financial world are a complete and total mystery to me. Stocks and bonds were just words that I learned about in my high school Econ class. And the numbers that scroll across the bottom of the nightly news reports are...just that! Numbers!

But Johnson has done everything in his power to help change that. Here, he provides you with not one, not two, but EIGHT books that explore everything you need to know about investing in and trading in the stock business. The books can be listened to individually for those interested in one particular aspect (like Foreign Trading), or as a whole for those who want to learn as much as they can about swing trading. Each individual book pulls mentions from the earlier books, tying in the information that was introduced before, and bringing it all together into one, long, informative novel. It's clear to me that Johnson knows how to help you get your money's worth.

Over the past month or so, I went from not even knowing that bitcoin and cryptocurrency were a thing to suddenly hearing about them on almost a daily basis. Though I still haven't fully been able to grasp exactly how cryptocurrency works, it's through people like Andrew Johnson who have been able to provide me with a helpful start-up guide that I'm steadily starting to understand this technology-based currency a little bit more. What I particularly liked about this book was the fact that not only did he describe what cryptocurrency is and how one can go about obtaining it, but he also highlighted some of the dangers that may not seem so obvious to those less familiar with the technology. It's very easy to fall into scams these days, but Johnson did a fantastic job of pointing out some warning signs to look for in order to help assure everyone's money stays safe and protected. Finally, I thought Nicki Gallo did a great job with the narration. Her soothing voice kept me engaged and interactive the entire duration of the novel.

"You are not a perfect parent. In all this world, there is none."

As someone who greatly looks forward to having children one day, I found this book not only enjoyable, but also highly informative. I loved Garden's format of highlighting the main family that is talked about throughout the duration of the novel, but also peppering the narrative with examples of other children. It was helpful to see a variety of stories highlighting experiences, both good and bad, that almost every parent will face at some point in their lives. And the quote at the end about how no parent is "perfect" is also very important. It's important to anyone, especially new parents, to know that sometimes, your children are going to make bad decisions. But in a way, that's also crucial to their overall development and provided you are able to address the situation in a calm and appropriate matter, your children will ultimately grow up to be amazing individuals in today's society.

Would you consider the audio edition of Blockchain: Uncovering Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, and the Future of Money to be better than the print version?

I have personally never read the print version, but I did really enjoy the audio version. I found that it was actually more helpful, especially for someone who is interested in actually starting up a bitcoin account. By having the audio there, they can open up their laptop and follow along with the instructions as Wright lists them.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blockchain: Uncovering Blockchain Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin, and the Future of Money?

I was interested to hear how much the value of bitcoin has increased in such a short amount of time. It's crazy to think that something that started out as such a minute form of currency is worth significantly more now.

Which character – as performed by Scott Miller – was your favorite?

I really liked Scott Miller as the narrator. He genuinely sounded like he understood the material and he made it easy to become invested in the material and follow along with it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Welcome to the Paperless Age.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is at all interested in learning how blockchain and bitcoin currency works. I went into this book knowing nothing about bitcoin save for the brief moment on The Big Bang Theory when it was mentioned, and by the end, I knew not only what bitcoin was, but also how to set up an account and even invest in it to ultimately make more money. Definitely informative and exciting.

Where does Stoicism: A Detailed Breakdown of Stoicism Philosophy and Wisdom from the Greats rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

At first, I wasn't sure how I was feeling about Tanner's novel, but I think a big part of that was due to the fact that I didn't really know anything about stoicism. However, now that I have enough of a basic understanding of the philosophy, I feel that I would enjoy the novel a lot more a second time around. It was actually the first audiobook I listened to and I'm eager to listen to more.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Stoicism: A Detailed Breakdown of Stoicism Philosophy and Wisdom from the Greats?

Being an English major, I very much enjoyed the section where Tanner highlighted how stoicism ties into "If/Then" statements. I also like how he laid out the difference between having "knowledge" and having "wisdom." Many people think the two words are interchangeable, but that's not exactly the case.

What about Sam Slydell’s performance did you like?

Sam Slydell definitely spoke with an air of someone who had familiarized himself with the source material before doing the reading.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

I loved how even though most of the source material for stoicism came from philosophers that lived thousands of years ago, Tanner was able to relate the basic philosophies of stoicism with modern day examples, making it much easier to understand.

Any additional comments?

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel more than I expected and I recommend it to anyone interested in learning a little bit more about this particular philosophy.
