Well this one got me out of a book slump. The narrator’s performances were excellent. Totally worthy of a credit. You won’t regret this one.

The performance was great. I have no complaint on the narrators.
I typically don’t write reviews, but thought I should explain my rating.
This story wasn’t for me. Cybil acted and was treated like a child. All her friends acted as if Cybil was an idiot. If Cybil was a real person, “get new friends”. It became too much so I ended up dnf with less than 2 hours left. I enjoy insta love and finding one’s self tropes, which this book has. I couldn’t get past Cybil’s personality nor her friends to finish. There is a bit of a slow burn and a few spicy scenes…which I enjoy slow burns and spice. This book almost had it all for me. I’ll try another one of Aurora Rose Reynolds’s books since she does write well.

This one got me hooked on the mystery. I’m typically pretty good at predicting where the story is going, but there was a turn I was not expecting. This author is going on my binge list. I really enjoyed her writing.
Narrators did an incredibly job. They really brought the story to life for me.
The spice was there but not until around 5 hours in, but I enjoyed the build up.

The build up in this book was perfection. I enjoy a slow burn that eventually leads to the spice. The meet cute had me smiling and hooked me for the rest of the story. I kept laughing at the thought of cassette tapes being rare collectibles. Bless this 19 year olds heart lol.
The narrators did an excellent job. IMO Jennifer Mack should do more YA since her male voice fits a boy teen to early 20’s best, but it wasn’t bad just Pike sounded a bit juvenile.
Loved the book and always enjoy anything written by Penelope Douglas.

Narrators did a great job. Andi is always amazing and Sebastian York is starting to become a favorite of mine.

The story was kind of boring. Within the first few chapters I already knew what was going to happen. Let’s be honest, most of us choose these books for the sex and emotion. This story wasn’t very steamy with little emotion from the characters. I actually yawned when I finished it. All the great reviews is the reason I used a credit. I’m blaming you reviewers lol.

Won’t be finishing Violet and Luke’s story

I liked Callie and Kayden’s story which lead me to Violet and Luke. I liked Luke in the Callie and Kayden books, but this one left me with not liking any of the main characters. Seth was okay in the other stories, a bit pushy and annoying, but in this one he was a bully. It’s not cool to slut shame period. It irritated me that no one told him off properly. Then there was the weed. I don’t think this author has any experience and it showed by spreading misinformation. Luke kept lumping pot with other drugs. Stop it! Violet claims she gets angry and irrational on pot, similar to alcohol. What?! How is a small amount of pot going to make enough brownies to last a week? The author should have googled first and not relied on the Dare program propaganda. Not having accurate facts made the story fall apart for me on top of how unlikeable these characters are. These kids are the worse tenants. A friend gave them a deal on the place and they are trashing it without a care. Violet fat shames. None of the characters have any redeeming qualities. This story left me irrationally irritated and possibly ruined Callie and Kayden’s story (shame since this one was relatable).

Narrators did an excellent job, though.

Infuriating and antiquated ideas

The romance is adorable and I liked Lexi and Noah. Though, not much character development. I’m guessing this book is written for the Christian/religious community, which explains why I have a lot of issues with this story.

Narrators did well on their own character voices, but not so good on others. The male narrator made Lexi sound like an 80’s valley girl, but I enjoyed his male voices. The female narrator made Lexi’s dad sound like Ron Swanson...that may be more of a good thing since it had me laughing.

This book infuriated me. I’m an adult who likes to escape in cutesy ya romance during stressful times. It’s my glass of wine. This book had me wanting to grab a whole bottle. First off, purity rings are gross. Lexi has proven over and over how great of a daughter, sister, woman and person she is. She does everything right. The moment she kisses a boy. Only kisses a boy, she loses her dads trust. What her father did is consider emotional abuse, and her father seems a bit narcissistic. All her hard work is thrown out the window over a kiss. Her dad only cares about his daughter’s virginity/vagina. He sees it has her only worth and puts her in a higher standard than Easton. Double standards much.

This book is a fine example of toxic masculinity. “Boys only want one thing” and “real men don’t cry”. PLEASE!

I was disappointed that the author didn’t take the opportunity to help educate her young readers on safe sex. Maybe all these teens wouldn’t be having babies if the parents in their lives actually took the time to educate their teens on safe sex and alternatives of sex (ex: masturbation and oral sex).

I enjoy cheesy bad romance books and this one had me laughing so hard, especially when the bundling board came out. I about died. Zoey’s character was hilariously dumb and the ongoing of hours of “why won’t he kiss me” had me cry laughing.
What’s offensive is the “script” about an ASD person who is being played by an NT. I know this is fictional, but this idea of an NT person playing an ASD person is gross. The ASD character is always portrayed as a caricature in films and tv. Shame on this author for not doing proper research and speaking with actual autistics. I would had rated this book higher if it weren’t for this.

So...what happened to Sarah? She was this huge dramatic situation that is left unresolved. Her dad is against her going to art school, but it skips a month later and she’s going with no further explanation. And who likes Long John Silvers?!
The narrators were cracking me up. Sentences being read as if it’s a question or reading a sad scene with excitement. This is what I get when I feel like listening to something cheesy and I don’t want to use a credit. At least it kept my attention and had me laughing.

If you are a fan of Jennifer Niven, then I recommend this book. The story had me mad, crying, and laughing out loud. I thought it would be equal parts Ryn and Xander, but instead it centers around Ryn and her grief. Though, I would have enjoyed listening more about Xander’s background and his relationship with his parents.
The narrator is great with character voices, but I’m not a fan on how she pronounces most words (either nasally or sounds like she’s swallowed her tongue). It didn’t annoy me enough to stop listening. I plan to purchase the book to see if I end up liking Ryn and her best friend (IMO, her bf was a crap friend). Maybe reading it in my own voice will change my opinion. Even though I didn’t like her, I was still invested in the story and everything that was going on. Very well written.
