Busse is a coward
Revisado: 08-19-24
Busse comes off as a guy who didn’t have the stones to stand up for what he believes in for 20+ years, then his wife finally pressured him into quitting his job and writing this book. There’s always two sides to every story, and I’d love to hear the other side to all of his stories from the book. Coward.

Amazing story! Very well narrated. This is one I’ve read before, but found it again in audible and had to listen to it. This is one book I regularly recommend to friends that like adventure and the outdoors.

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

Incredible
Revisado: 04-07-19
This story is a classic. I’ve heard abbreviated versions of Shackleton’s voyage before, but never did read the book. I found this audiobook and I’m glad I did. A few friends didn’t like the narrator, but I thought he was great. This is one I’ll listen to again. I’m happy to have it in my library.
