Historia
Now you too can discover the inspiring model of St. Francis as outlined by St. Bonaventure. Bonaventure talks about this spiritual journey as taking place in six steps, like the six days of creation. On each step of the journey, he explores a new dimension of our relationship with God. Bonaventure presents us with a mystical theology, leading us step by step from reflection on the world around us, through reflection on our inner world as human beings, toward the world above us, the divine life of the Holy Trinity.

Waste of time & money!
Revisado: 03-01-25
Very dry boring paraphrasing of Bonaventure's writing -- not one bit of Bonaventure's actual writing (translated of course). I feel deceived bcz the blurb about the book sounded like it included some actual text by Bonaventure. There is none. I am so disappointed I'm angry bcz Bonaventure's words are said to be so beautiful and inspiring. I do not recommend this book.

Historia
For years, Emma Carey was a regular young adult who would wake up and go about their day on autopilot, someone who would look at a sunset and feel unaffected, someone who was living, but not really alive. That is, until something happened that enabled her to really see life for the gift it is. Emma was in a skydiving accident that made her a paraplegic. This book is not just about Emma's fall from the sky and how she learned to walk without ever regaining feeling in her legs but also about the beliefs and ideas that helped her survive.

Well worth the read.
Revisado: 02-03-25
Not sure what adjective to use bcz - - it's a very impacting piece of writing. "Wonderful," "amazing" are possibilities but a bit too grandiose bcz . . . Carey's book is so down-to-earth. She effectively describes and shares her experience and shock of the actual fall. The rest of the book gives the many many life altering changes in her physical world -- and the depth-charge insights and changes in her psyche, worldview, heart and mind resulting from the calamitous accident. She is fresh, honest and forthcoming such that her story comes across and really reaches the reader -- the personal insights she shares have definitely helped me. This is why she wrote this book -- she thinks the sharing can/will help others who face harsh difficulties in their lives -- even if they're only psychological. I agree with her! ;) Thank you Emma! for writing this book! She narrates the book herself and her voice is a bit scratchy - (not a result of the accident) - that's the only slightly negative thing I have to say and . . . scratchy or not, it might be that the rawness adds to authenticity impact.

We often think of saints as rare individuals whose gifts far exceed our own, and St. Francis is no exception. But for Fr. Richard Rohr, a prolific author and renowned speaker, the life and teachings of this beloved figure offer an authentic spirituality we can all embody.

I love this
Revisado: 10-20-24
I've been listening to this for about 8 years now - not every day ;) but intermittently, sometimes often sometimes not for awhile but it always uplifts, reminds and consoles me. His voice and tone are so gentle - all while speaking sometimes harsh truths we need to start seeing so we can grow. Somehow, I often hear something new in it though I've listened many many tines before. Definitely spirit food -- for me anyway ;)

This complete set of tracks of guided imagery for PTSD can be used alongside other treatment approaches, as well as a stand-alone healing tool. Empowering and effective, this highly regarded guided meditation set for PTSD treatment increases self-esteem, confidence and sense of self-worth. The separate track of affirmations bolsters the PTSD treatment process with quick, positive reminders in a briefer format which listeners can hear while engaged in other activities, including driving.

Deeply healing
Revisado: 10-19-24
I am so grateful to Naparstek for having the wisdom, love and will to write these guided meditations and affirmations. I have a most serious case of PTSD that has dominated my life. These tools ARE helping me heal. It's like salvation - - but not instant!! It is as she says - repeating, retraining, reconditioning ourselves. It takes time. It is a process -- OF COURSE ;) Life is a process. Thank you Bella Ruth.

Unpleasant obnoxious main character
Revisado: 09-06-24
One of the two main characters in the first novel is extremely unpleasant, not someone I want to spend hours with listening to the story. Also, the plot in this one is very slow moving and with very little "mystery" or interesting detail in the plot so you listen to a lot of repetition of the problem described over and over with different characters. There's a reason Sally Rigby is not a well known author. I do not recommend this book package. I'm going to jump to the second novel in the bundle and see if it's any better.

Historia
Is darkness synonymous with ignorance and evil? Or is it the original matrix from which all life emerges, and the Mother to whom it returns? Higher and higher levels of artificial illumination have suppressed our contact with the numinous since the Industrial Revolution, with dire consequences for society, our planetary ecology, and our souls. This mystical testament weaves together paleobiology, memoir, history, science, and spiritual archaeology to lead listeners back into the lost mysteries of the dark.

Wow!
Revisado: 08-12-24
Shocking! -- I'm pretty sure - - to conventional thought/belief - - but I HOPE people will read on anyway bcz what Strand experienced is so true and the re-deepened understanding so desperately needed. As he and others say . . we've become locked inside of a very narrow view of reality and our world. This narrowed focus occurred as a natural part of other parts of human consciousness developing -- like, the left brain faculties of mind and the ability to truly embody ourselves as 'individuals' and not just sheep-like awareness. But it IS TIME to now see through this rich and piquant aspect of awareness to consciously recognizing our seamless ONENESS with all of life and each other. The "narrowing" of our focus happened so slowly over such a length of time that we can't see it . . . [unless and when discomfort with the falseness of seeing it as the whole truth] . . . makes us LOOK DEEPER than conventional assumptions. And Strand isn't the only one saying it. Many other spiritual teachers are saying these things -- many of them keeping much of the traditional teachings while also OPENING to these deeper truths that ARE within the traditional but which have been swept aside in the centuries-long wave of left brain development -- which has yielded many good fruits! It's time to marry the streams. I highly recommend this book.
Part of what Strand says is very dire. I feel it's important to add that to be more in tune and in love with the Mother we can and need also to be LIGHT and PLAYFUL and NOT WORRY about it all - all the time. TRUST is part of the love ;)

There’s a reason you were drawn to this audiobook. Maybe you’re dissatisfied with what you’ve been told you “should be”. Maybe you know there’s something bigger out there, waiting for you, but the people in your life just don’t understand. Maybe you feel crazy or alone, like part of you is dying. You’re not dying. You’re just waking up. Even if you have seen my content before, it's time to strap in and hold on tight because this is not your average text. It’s your soul’s reminder of how powerful you are, and of how much you already know!

Good for teens or young adults
Revisado: 02-18-24
What Elizabet says is true! and important stuff! And I can hear and feel the earnest purity of her communication here. I just feel it is for younger people OR older adults who are at the very beginning of seeing 'behind the veil.' She is addressing us, her audience, as starseeds and I think more such souls have incarnated in the last 30? 40? ish years. They (we all) are living in the chaos of a world where the old order/era is collapsing/dissolving and the new one hasn't yet formed. We all need support in welcoming rather than fearfully moving away from new ways of seeing and living on and sharing this planet.

Historia
Tara never imagined her introduction to Ireland like this - carrying her mam's ashes to honor her final request: "Tell Johnny I'm sorry.... Take me home." She's never met her mam's estranged brother, Johnny Meehan, who owns an architectural salvage business in Galway. Although Tara is immediately charmed by the medieval city, the locals seem wary of strangers, and a gypsy warns her that death is all around. When Tara arrives at her uncle's stone cottage, the prophesy seems true. A dead man lies sprawled over the threshold in a pool of blood.

Almost good
Revisado: 01-24-24
This book has good interlinking plots but it is SOOOOO IRRITATING that O'Connor seriously damages the story by having the characters litanize so many ridiculous possible solutions as they puzzle the case. Also, the main character is not particularly likable. She's like a n unpleasant pushy bulldog blundering all over the place putting herself and others in danger. Though her detecting analyses are savvy, she is not admirable but childishly willful. If the plot(s) weren't as good as they were I would have quit reading. I'm just disgusted and disappointed when a person writes this well yet still uses or is unaware of the these kinds of weaknesses -- using ridiculous possibilities to fill pages and making the female bullish instead of strong.
