Engaging, painful…truth.

Before writing this, I read a few of the other reviews. I was aggravated by the comments about the cursing and/or “vulgarity”. The life story of some people cannot be told without it. The raw and honest truth is sometimes vulgar.
As a middle aged white woman, some of this made me uncomfortable, but that’s ok! We learn hard truths in life sometimes from our discomfort. I absolutely loved this book. I laughed, and I cried. It took guts for her to expose her past, and her feelings. I applaud her for it.

I can’t put my into words how much I loved his unabashed honesty. His voice exudes charm and wit. I laughed and I cried. He and I share the loss of our mothers at age 12, and the lack of help with our grief. The stories of his mom definitely resonate.

I love the underdogs!

I love a good story about underdogs. Especially true stories. This book made me laugh and cry. As a true “dog person” myself, I can definitely relate to the stories of love and loyalty. Tia is a great writer/story teller. She’s even a great narrator. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves their smiling, tail wagging best friends.
