Historia
Welcome to the world of T. W. Brown's DEAD saga. This raw, violent, and brutal world isn't populated with military supermen and women, or preppers that have been waiting for the human extinction event to arrive. This is a world of normal people...some good, some bad...and some pure evil. This is a global look at the end of the world. Follow Steve and his group as you see the apocalypse unfold through a single person's eyes. With the Geeks, you meet four young men who thought a zombie apocalypse would be cool...and quickly discover that it really isn't.

Story is not good at the start but does grow on you
Revisado: 02-25-23
At first the story was everywhere. So many characters that it was hard to stay focused. Character development at first was non existent but later as the amount of people dwindled it was better. The lack of any real timeline hurt the story, as we never knew when something was taking place. A lot of plot holes and story lines that never went anywhere made the story kind of unfulfilling.
One thing I absolutely hated was that there were so many sexual scenes. Made it hard to listen to because they would always pop up at the worst times while listening in my car and people would look at me as if I was watching porn. The amount of inappropriate content did not add value to the story and could have been toned down.
However, in the end I did find the story to be good. Even if each character could have been their own book rather then patched together.

When the zombie apocalypse hits the quiet Asheville, NC, subdivision of Whispering Pines, the residents don't turn to the police or the military. Nope. They rely on their iron-fisted Home Owners Association! Which Jace Stanford and his family aren’t too keen on. Undead hordes are hard enough to deal with in a post-apocalyptic hellscape, who needs HOA fines too?

What a comical yet sorrowful ride
Revisado: 11-11-22
At first I honestly didn’t think much of the story. But the more I listened I found myself invested. At times it felt like the story was missing a step or two but after a bit everything would come together. The ending was heartbreaking but only because after so many hours of active listening the characters become real as in most books. The story is good even if there are a lot of plot holes and loose ends that never get tied up. But I guess that is why they are called loose ends. It is your basic Z book with some comic relief and sprinkle of war, which is a recipe for a good listen. No, the zombie genre was not recreated in this story but it did add a nice spin to it. Hopefully there will be more stories from the Z-burbia universe I can hear.

Decent time waster, nothing more.
Revisado: 11-16-20
So the story seemed like it had a good start but then they threw in the catastrophic event. I know they needed a catalyst for the apocalypse part of the story, but they didn’t even utilize the impact or after shocks except as a reason for everything happening. But the characters focused more on their mental illnesses then they did the destruction of civilization. It was like the asteroid was an afterthought or a background character instead of the biggest destructive thing to happen to the world since the dinosaurs. This story could have been told without the apocalypse, might have worked better that way. Otherwise the acting was okay. Sometimes seemed like they actors weren’t meshing very well. And the ending felt unfinished and seemed like it went no where really fast. Overall it was a decent time killer but nothing memorable.
