Historia
The Kingdom of God Is Within You is a nonfiction book written by Leo Tolstoy. A philosophical treatise, the book was first published in Germany in 1894 after being banned in his home country of Russia. It is the culmination of 30 years of Tolstoy's thinking and lays out a new organization for society based on a literal Christian interpretation. The Kingdom of God Is Within You is a key text for Tolstoyan nonviolent resistance and Christian anarchist movements.

Historia
Numida was the complete opposite of the North African stereotype of a desolate place--it was a land of plenty, the home of rich agricultural land that provided a good share of the Roman Empire’s food. Numidia was also home to the Numidian people, who were known for their horsemanship skills, bellicosity, and capriciousness when it came to their friends and allies. From the third century BCE until the mid-first century BCE, the Numidians ruled their land as independent kingdoms that dealt with their more powerful neighbors on a relatively equal footing.

Not sure what I expected
Revisado: 02-14-23
First, the Narrator would often stumble over words and had an awkward reading pace. If the narrator would speak at a slower, more consistent pace, it would be less distracting.
I expected a more of Berber history and culture, but this was more a recount of the Punic Wars from the Numidian perspective. Which is not totally understood from the subtitle.
Less information that I had expected, though the length is only 1.5 hours, a person with a strong understanding of the Punic Wars would likely know about the subtleties between Ancient Carthage and Numibia, I did not, but I was left wanting to know more about who the Numibians were, and less about the Roman - Numibian conflicts.

The Mote In God's Eye is their acknowledged masterpiece, an epic novel of mankind's first encounter with alien life that transcends the genre. No lesser an authority than Robert A. Heinlein called it "possibly the finest science fiction novel I have ever read".

Great Story!
Revisado: 02-13-23
Great Story!
One can tell that this story was written in a different era. Talk of smoking pipes, grand dinners, 'old time-y' language, and somewhat dated modern technology. It was hard to distinguish this as the author's way of distinguishing the aristocracy, or if it just dates when the book was written.
Overall, a great First Contact Space Sci-Fi

Too much production not enough story
Revisado: 12-12-20
It's like the producers took 25 half written stories with no depth and stitched them together with dramatic sound effects, intro and outro music on each chapter and a hope that the producers game would carry this book.
it's honestly why I got it, hoping I'd get into a new genre. Nope. other dramatized audio books are done well, but this has too many effects. so much it's distracting. the characters have no depth and the stories jumped around too much to follow. not a fan. will be returning this book

A tale through the future

More of a dark humor book to me, and the potential dis-topia after a global nuclear war. I was engaged to the story throughout its character's adventures.

Beautiful Story
Revisado: 07-26-18
One of the best books I have listened to! Each character is captivating, I wanted to learn more and more about each person. For a space exploration book written in the 90's the Sci-Fi-ness does not distract from the story at all. This book is so well written I cannot wait to read the sequel.
