Historia
Journey with Jesus on the road to Jerusalem with these reflections for Lent by Sinclair Ferguson. As you walk through the second half of Luke’s Gospel, you'll meet the people Jesus encountered on the way to the cross and prepare your heart to appreciate his death and resurrection afresh. Pithy yet profound, these devotions will hold up a mirror to your own heart and, more importantly, give you a window into the heart of the Lord Jesus - the one who came to seek and to save the lost at Easter.

Excellent narration of scriptures as well as the excellent teaching and exposition of Mr. Ferguson. I was blessed as I listened each morning to the devotions. It is transformative.

Historia
The Sojourn is the story of Jozef Vinich, who was uprooted from a 19th-century mining town in Colorado by a family tragedy and returns with his father to an impoverished shepherd’s life in rural Austria-Hungary. When World War One comes, Jozef joins his adopted brother as a sharpshooter in the Kaiser’s army, surviving a perilous trek across the frozen Italian Alps and capture by a victorious enemy. A stirring tale of brotherhood, coming-of-age, and survival, this novel evokes a time when Czechs, Slovaks, Austrians, and Germans fought on the same side while divided by language, ethnicity, and social class.

Historia
Some people's lives are entirely their own creations. James Rebanks' isn't. He's the first son of a shepherd who was the first son of a shepherd himself; his family have lived and worked in the Lake District of Northern England for generations, further back than recorded history. It's a part of the world known mainly for its romantic descriptions by Wordsworth and the much-loved illustrated children's books of Beatrix Potter. But James' world is quite different. His way of life is ordered by the seasons and the work they demand.

Wonderful Story of Farming Life in The Lake District of the UK
Revisado: 01-17-25
Great descriptions of farmers and farm life. Focused on folks who raise and breed sheep. I loved the way that James’ farming life is directly connected to ancient ways. I Found it very interesting.

Historia
Taking his trademark intellectual approach to understanding Christianity, Timothy Keller uncovers the essential message of Jesus, locked inside his most familiar parable. Within that parable Jesus reveals God's prodigal grace toward both the irreligious and the moralistic. This book will challenge both the devout and skeptics to see Christianity in a whole new way.

Revisado: 03-02-24
Keller’s book was amazing. He provided excellent insights into the Parable …of the two lost sons and the prodigal love of the Father. Hearing the book he himself read was something special. I am grateful for Tim Keller’s life…his books have acted as a mentor to me. Glory to God!

Historia
Union soldier John Chenneville suffered a traumatic head wound in battle. His recovery took the better part of a year as he struggled to regain his senses and mobility. By the time he returned home, the Civil War was over, but tragedy awaited. John’s beloved sister and her family had been brutally murdered. Their killer goes by many names. He fought for the North in the late unpleasantness, and wore a badge in the name of the law. But the man John knows as A. J. Dodd is little more than a rabid animal, slaughtering without reason or remorse, needing to be put down.

Historia
In this brutally honest and hugely helpful book, Dai Hankey helps us to consider David’s spiritual journey. We’ll see the mess of David’s sin and the depths of his brokenness, but we’ll also see that hearing God’s word and responding in repentance turned David’s life around. Dai 'grabs us by the scruff of the neck' to do likewise and turn to God. As we do, we'll experience afresh the joy of being forgiven, no matter how far we may feel we’ve fallen.
