Historia
In a world where women hold all the power and men have barely been an afterthought, an intrepid shipmistress must put aside everything she knows if she is to save her people. Bela is at the helm of the Sandcrow, a ship sent from calm seas to the far frozen north in search of a legendary power that could turn the tide of war. Locked into ice, the Sandcrow is lost. Now, for the shipmistress and her crew, a desperate voyage becomes a chilling struggle for survival against nature, fear, and prejudice.

No Connections Made
Revisado: 07-01-19
Didn't connect with any character. Nothing that happened was interesting because the characters were so flat. Seemed very short because I kept spacing out and thinking of other things only to rewind and find I didn't miss much.
Narrator did the best with what she had, although there could've been more effort to distinguish character voices... tough job, considering there wasn't much distinguishing them in the story.

Historia
When does an empire fall? The Seven Satrapies have collapsed into four—and those are falling before the White King's armies. Gavin Guile, ex-emperor, ex-Prism, ex-galley slave, formerly the one man who might have averted war, is now lost, broken, and trapped in a prison crafted by his own hands to hold a great magical genius. But Gavin has no magic at all. Worse, in this prison Gavin may not be alone.

Love Brent Weeks
Revisado: 01-24-17
I love fantasy books, and in my opinion there are two authors who do it best; Robin Hobb and, recently elevated to the same level of my admiration, Brent Weeks. Joe Abercrombie deserves a mention, but the depth of Mr Weeks's characters has me reading/listening to his books over and over again.
Also, Simon Vance is a fantastic narrator. I've listened to books I might have passed up because he narrated them.
