What can I say besides it was exactly as good as I expected. My bar is high. It's grown since I started this series. Matt & Jeff combine to make one hell of a story. Great job guys. Mongo approves.

Another great installment

I loved the development in this story, where we get more of a confrontation between Alice and the pack, as well as Murphy. I like her more with every book.

Solid second book

This book is as good as the first. It reveals a little more of what Alice can do beautifully and keeps the tension strong throughout the investigation into missing working girls.

Okay story. Full series is awesome.

This story does not showcase the author's abilities. If I had listened to this first, I would have given the actual series a hard pass. I had to double check to make sure the narrator wasn't AI, but also the omniscient POV makes the story feel distant. Luckily, I listened to Heart of Malice before this and it's fantastic, as is the female narrator. Read the series first.

Great story

I haven't read a more captivating first book in a UF series in a long time. This book was up and running from the start, but didn't sacrifice character development for the sake of action. It's well-rounded and had great characters, romane, action, plot, and intrigue. I look forward to the rest of the series.

Fantastic, Satisfying Ending to the Series

All the things you wanted this book to do gets done in this book. It's got sorrow, revenge, hardship, and satisfaction galore. I hate reading a series that doesn't nail the ending. It makes you feel like the journey was a waste of time. I'm glad to say this book does the opposite. It makes the journey all the sweeter.

Great variety of stories!

As always, there's a range of stories in this volume of Writers of the Future. I'm so glad they started doing audio versions. This volume has a range of narrators who all did a phenomenal job capturing the characters in the stories. There's mysticism, humor, heartbreak, and spiritual journeying. There's explorations of artificial intelligence, aging with dignity, realms beyond mortality, the future, the impossible, and the unknown. It's an engaging look at worlds we can only imagine. I loved every minute of it!

This book is great, just like the rest of the series with unique quests and interesting new characters, but the ending was hands down the best part. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book. Clearly, it's going to be awesome.
