Feminism saves the world...again.
Revisado: 07-23-24
Tried to listen to the entire audiobook ..but I couldn't stomach the cliches. Basically, all women are strong and selfless. While. men are worthless idiots. Women witches have extraordinary powers that they use for good. Men are still worthless idiots. Argh...I get sick of this theme that seems to be woven throughout many modern day stories. It way overdone.

Historia
Over the past hundred years, scholars have attacked the historical truth of the Gospels and argued that they were originally anonymous and filled with contradictions. In The Case for Jesus, Brant Pitre taps in to the wells of Christian scripture, history, and tradition to ask and answer a number of different questions, including: If we don't know who wrote the Gospels, how can we trust them? How are the four Gospels different from other Gospels, such as the lost Gospel of "Q" and the Gospel of Thomas?

Revisado: 01-04-23

Historia
John Dolan Vincent was born with an extra ring finger on one hand. He was an abnormally gifted child with a proclivity for mathematics beyond his years, but he lacked social skills. Childhood ridicule and a difficult family life led him to use his talents in adulthood for criminal acts of forgery. When he starts getting untreatable migraines, his self-medication results in overdosing which sends him repeatedly to the emergency room.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 08-20-20
Although the author clearly has talent, I found the story a bit mundane and depressing. I did not care for the narrator’s voice either. I only listened through the entirety because Chuck Palahniuk gave it rave reviews.

Unsatisfying read
Revisado: 07-27-18
Lots of characters, lots of action... but there seemed to be so many loose ends at the conclusion. I felt cheated by a weak ending that did not come full circle. Very disappointing.

My first Ann Rule Book
Revisado: 07-09-18
Ok. Interesting for sure. But first case (the foundation of this book) was very long winded. I know this was her first case so she wanted to be precise but it was about 3 hours too long in audio. I found myself skimming through hat was said because Of redundancies. Merlington was a good reader except I found her “male” voice annoying. I know she was trying to deepen her voice to recreate a masculine deep tone but it only grated on my nerves. I just wish she would have spoke in her normal pitch. I would have got the gist of it without cringing. Still a worthwhile audio book. I learned about cases I was not aware of before
