development of many characters, intro of others

I wondered at buying book. as Hope and Carl are Not characters I am invested in. However I like family dynamics of Benicio, Page and Lucas. I like that Page is making friends and Lucas is maturing and developing. I am liking the story.. What I'd really love is Troy's story!

dysfunctional characters much..

as I'm moving into the third book of the Katie Bishop series, I seriously can't decide whether I like it or not I mean obviously I do which makes bcz I keep coming back. But, Katie Bishop is arrogant, proud, rude and just plain unpleasant, she is impatient, surly and immature. however underneath she has a big heart and a Savior complex. Jackson, is everyone's idea of a heartthrob however he's got some serious flaws too. every character in this book is seriously flawed.. And every one of them except seemingly the society circle, has redeeming qualities in their own ways. but they r also, all jerks.
Which makes me laugh out loud. just when I think I'm not going to read/listen any further, I find I really want to know what happens to wrap it!
I suppose it's like, family. you know they irritate the hell out of you but u love them dearly and don't want anything bad happening. You want all to have their happily ever after.
In one sense it's brilliant I keep coming back and I guess that's all an author can ask for. author's r storytellers. they tell a story that they hear and feel. we the reader or listener take their story and do whatever we want with it. and the best anyone can hope for is to keep coming back to the world created by the author.

good as the Sam Quinn

I found this writer a few weeks ago. I chose to start with the Sam Quinn series but had put this book off. I didn't want to b disappointed that this series might not be as good as SQ. alot of time I really enjoy one series but not the other in an authors repertoire. I am excited to say add this author to a small handfuls of authors I love.

Narrator is so very slow

I'm not one to pick on a narrator, how ever this annoying. nice enough voice but dragged everything out, and accents were off. voice for each character so wrong after listening to the entire series and volumes.
love the original narrator's take on each character.
story was as expected bcz of being Stacia's point of view. I liked it. it wasn't as great as a many in the series but then again it wasn't a new story, just Stacia's view on events that already happened.

her voice is wonderful for meditation and the material she covers is great

The timing was difficult. I am and seasoned meditator. and it took a bit of effort to keep up with her timing of doubling down on relaxation in the beginning especially dropping in the meditation. letting the day go. I meditate is at the end of the day, and shrugging off the day to drop into a meditation that fast was a little bit of work for me. I can do it because I Am a seasoned meditator but I'm not sure someone new to meditating could do so.

struggling to finish.. do to turning my favorite STeckland into assassins.
the story remains true to form. the story intriguing and fascinating. a true weaving of story craft and telling. I'm once again falling into the flow of masterful heralding

Over I enjoyed it However it has a couple weaknesses

I Really like liked this book.enough to buy the sequel immediately upon finishing it. That being said, It to what seemed to b forever to get into it. The vapid party scenario and seemingly forced swearing was tiresome. If it helps to know that this is pertinent to the story setup to get you through it, do it. Just do it.
I don’t typically like broody, sad, grief stricken characters but there is enough character building, world building, snark, mystery and story even goofy to balance out the gloomy and emotional.
The world & character building is such that even the few trite moments are a YES! Because I cared about so many of the characters and wanted happiness for them. Even rooting for those that are gray and ambiguous in character, the ones you know could be bad but you hope can be good.
It’s a great ride, if you can get started.

Loved It. Romance and All! It has everything. typically ignore the romance. Not this time. And the secondary characters are written in a way I wanted more of them.
